I've always fancied winning promotion via the play offs. Yesterdays result could be the turning point, everything against us, yet we still got a valuable point. Wycombe will be a real test and will be more than happy with a point. Then the next 3 home games are critical, we need 3 wins else I have a feeling to will leave us struggling.

I know some on here have said Vincenti played on the right at Rochdale, but in the two games I saw him on sky playing for them, he completely dominated playing CM. It was a league two version on Viera...
To me he was always outstanding for Dale and was amazed we got him. I agree centre mid

As the Wycombe thread isn't up yet I think we'll win that one and barring any further critical Injuries or suspensions Lincoln too.

Not featured there once for us though has he and therefore you can only guess Robins doesn't rate him there. There have been chances to play him when we have struggled in the centre through form or injury.

I haven't seen him but MR used him wide and has seemed to conclude that it hasn't come off.
Clive has speculated the player has found it hard to settle, whether that is just speculation or based on more who knows but he hasn't really delivered a lot has he?

Big slip up for them yesterday so would expect them to want to prove a point on Tuesday, will definitely be a tough one.

Let's hope its the start of a bad run for them, we need to get 3 points on Tuesday to put ourselves back into the mix

They're not that good are they ?
Above us in the league they currently are but I wouldn't say they're any good, we should go there looking to win and get a win.
Their beast will need looking after though and we're two CBs down, however I expect.!

The key injuries happened before Christmas and in Andreu's case before the official end of summer. The inability to replace these players has definitely been a factor, but the negative set-ups have been more costly in my view. Still, confidence breeds confidence and 2 wins next week could have us back in 7th.

Yes key Injuries did happen before x mas, but the FGR games was a disaster too! 2/3 defenders injured disrupted the match tactics and the team vs Accrington was depleted.

The Virus that went through the team next game didn't help vs Accrington, a few players were definitely off colour due to the bug/virus.

Yep, though some are back, you could say the key ones are still out, Jones, Andreu and dare I say it, Davies, who was sensational until his injury.
Yup Davies especially I think we will miss him vs Wycombe and Lincoln both arguably the biggest hoofers in the league !

Really hope Hyam steps up Will be tough vs Akinfenwa and Matt Rhead next two games.

There's always Stokes, so a Stokes/McDonald combination.

That's only part of the Problem. Wycombe score majority of their goals from the 2nd ball, the ball Akinfenwa does or does not win.

Crucial we play with two sitting in front of Doyle and Kelly making sure we win every 2nd ball!

See Stokes coming for Haynes. and I See Rod MacDonald n the not so Mobile Akinfenwa and Rhead. But like I say they demolish the 2nd ball all the time!

They looked dreadful at the Ricoh but we still let them back in from 2-0 down. Go at them hard in the first 15-20 minutes and see if that fragile defence holds, it didn't look like it could back in December.

We dealt with him fairly well back in December, though for a big man he sure can go to ground like the sack of potatoes he is.

We did, but again it was nervy close ending. I think they were on a good run then when we played them, and we come into the match not having won in the league for 5/6 weeks. Maybe a lucky omen.

We do seem to have the wood over them.

Most people have Haynes as MOTM though for yesterday. Can't see Robins dropping him on the back of that.

Hyam could get bullied, whereas, I don't believe Stokes would.

Davies would have been ideal, akinfenwa will bully mcdonald. Stokes is an option there but still not sure him and mcdonald will be quick enough to react to the second balls

Looking at our present rate of progress 51 points from 33 games give us 71 points from 46 over the last 10 years the average points for automatic promotion is 83 out of the question (32 from 39 ) lowest in that time 78 (27 from 39) win at home draw away possible but unlikely . Playoff's again average points needed 72,( 21 from 33) this is doable, lowest in that time 68 (17 from39) if we could not do this we don't deserve to be in the play off's . For me realist I think we might just make the playoff's . If only at last we are not carrying a passenger up front 2 strikers will seem a luxury . All we need now is to ditch play just 1 defensive midfielder and be a bit more on the front foot.

Mansfield play completely brand of football. Compared to the teams coming up. Haynes linked up really well with Shipley on the left hand side. I had Shipley down as my motm. Thought he was outstanding, really strong performance from him.

Haynes has a role to play but I’m afraid defensively he’s not as good as Stokes. Horses for courses for me.
Wycombe defence is very leaky so as long as we keep them out I would expect us to score a few.

We need at least 10 points from the next 5 games. I think we might sneak a win against Wycombe on Tuesday by the odd goal, Lincoln will be difficult with so many fans behind them (although can work both ways) so going draw, Barnet win, Luton defeat and Crewe draw

Big talk of turning it around, but our form is woeful at the minute

7 points from our last 6

13 from our last 10

And just looking at our away form that's 5 points from the last 8 games.

NO FEAR as Nigel Ben would say.
That's pretty stark but it starts from here.

Our form turned around at Mansfield.

It is bad.but Form is temporary and changes game by game basis.
I think it would maybe more prudent to say our form 'may' have turned around at Mansfield.

Think we need to see what happens tomorrow to see if it is indeed true. I would take a draw if we could then beat Lincoln.

I think a draw tomorrow and then lincoln win is achievable. Really fancy us against lincoln.. although that could change come wed morning.
