Fast forward 10 years:

Dale has just been put back on the ward following a spell in solitary confinement.

Everyone has been sitting around listening to his story about how he was actually let out because he had a yacht in Monaco that needed docking, and he was the only one with the keys.

Amazingly, some of the other paitents actually believe this.

You are closer than you'd ever believe with the boat comment. It was one of the things he claimed when we were talking about his purchase of my house. Even showed me a photo of 'his' boat.

Oh I know, I've seen the picture too...

Any further word from him since his vanishing act?

Just heard Evans has pulled the plug on the deal. Was about to sign at the solicitors but his pen ran out of ink. Whilst awaiting a replacement he read this forum and could not believe how sceptical and abusive the fans were, so he stormed out and caught the next train to bullshitville.

You've obviously not heard the latest then.

He saw a mad hatter on the way to the station who offered him his full support and drove him to Woolworths in his flying car. There were 100,000 city fans there when he arrived cheering his name throwing pens at him while telling him people online are trolls not to be listened to.

He's now going to complete the deal but obviously the solicitors has unfortunately closed so it cant be done today. He's now decided its better to avoid these complications by paying in cash, unfortunately the withdrawal limit on his card is only £300 a day so its going to take some time for him to get it all together. Be patient and back the bid!

Any owner has got to be better than SISU given history here. I doubt anyone who has lived through the last dark 10 years would think otherwise.

SISU have no emotional attachment to the football club. They see it as a business venture and will milk the value for all they can. The fact it has no assets of value is besides the point. They know a football club has emotional value as that has a monetary value associated to it. Knowing SISU that figure is likely to be prohibitive to anyone except for someone who has more money than common business sense and who has a desire to own a football club. Hence the rebuff of any deals the Hoffman consortium put on the table. It is clear any deal prospect for business people who balance the desire to get the Club back into ''caring hands'' with an experienced eye for a sound business proposition is a non-starter. Enter Dale Evans. He is his own worst enemy with the way he goes about things but he is single-minded in his approach to own the football club - either in his mind or in reality. More importantly he has cash and is seemingly prepared to throw cash at the challenge. How do we know? Gary Hoffman confirmed it. How much cash we don't know and whether it is enough cash we don't know.

We need a character of Evans ilk to get us out of this predicament. Whether it is him or someone else time will show and it doesn't matter. I wish he would keep his mouth shut and I am sure Mr Hoffman is tearing out what little hair he has left trying to keep him quiet during a delicate negotiation process. But given there is no Plan B in sight (the Plan B is to see the court case through which could take many more years) we have to hope that Evans sees this through and then as owner he has enough common sense to delegate the operational running of the Club to Mr Hoffman and his team.

That's my view for what it is worth

Evans hasn’t a pot to piss in - stop embarrassing yourself.

out of interest how old is Mr Evans ? What year was he born?
I'm almost certain I went to school with him at some point and he was in my year. I'm turned 35 last November. I don't remember much about him other than I thought he was a prick at the time as well

His actual excuse for the inevitable non-event will probably be something on these lines.

Nah, it was just his wife pretending to be joy and pranking him. She had a mask and a dodgy wig on and had really got him to sign over everything to her.

He reminds me of a bloke i used to work with a couple of years ago. He was a fantastic worker and really hard to dislike but the bullshit he sprouted was unreal.....He told me the 1st day he started he owned 3 businesses and had houses all around the uk and making half a mil every year...Every relationship he had ended when they found out what a liar he was. Sad coz he really was a nice bloke deep down.

Did he work for JLR and listened to Marillion all day by any chance?

My daughter had a friend at primary school who took it all to a whole new level.

She was only 10, but didn't half come out with some fantastical rubbish.

She said that every Monday she went dancing in China! This despite it being a 12 and half hour flight each way.

She also said she was given a tiara by the Queen and then said she had won loads of athletics medals for her running.

When no-one believed her on the medals (final straw) she said she would prove it and the next week brought in a load of athletics medals. Only trouble was, they were really rusty and all were senior medals for the over 65's.

Good point, none of this nonsense has got anything to do with the nonsense this thread is meant for discussing.

Tell tony to stop stirring shit then or he’ll get it back in spades.

I’ve had him on ignore for ages but he still baits me so I don’t give a fuck.

Why did you take him off ignore. I only have one person on ignore on here and that because they are a snidey little turd who bottled a charity bet when having one of their snidey little digs. I have no intention of taking them off ignore at any point. They have no purpose but snidey digs.
Although Tony does actually debate points with you he isn’t just snidey all the time.
