Notts County for me too. My Dad is from Nottingham & grew up watching Tommy Lawton play for them. Lived in Nottingham for a bit & did go & watch them a few times too. This also explains why I dislike Forest more than Villa/ Leicester etc.

My dads mum was from Newcastle, moved here in the 50's, later moved to Cambridge then to Essex, then my dad moved back to Cov when he was older.
My mums side could be any number of clubs, from all over England, Europe and Africa. They stayed many years in Zimbabwe, So I could have even been a City fan with growing up when Ndlovu was playing for us.
It's quite a miracle that my parents even met really.

Both mum and dad were born in Coventry. None of my grandparents were though; it’s Brum, wolverton (now part of Milton Keynes), chipping norton or stoke. By all accounts when my great grandfather bought his family to cov (about 1908) from brum he used to walk back to the second city every other week to watch the Vile and visit his mum.

Blackburn Rovers for me, on my Mum’s side. My uncle still has a season ticket, his daughters did for years too, think one still does. Would have been much of a muchness methinks. Replace our FA Cup win with their title win, couple of relegations thanks to shit owners and I’d be in the same boat

Should be arsenal ..Islington born and bred....one of my cousins is married to pat rice ..everyone but me and my son support them ..but moved to rugby when parents divorced and Coventry were my local team

Dad's family from Cov more recently and through the generations Banbury/ Oxford/ Whitchurch. So may'be Oxford or Shrewsbury. My mums side are largely from Belfast and Celtic supporters ( Cov also since they moved over).

Born in Coventry. Brought up in Coventry. First game at Highfield Road. Taken to Highfield Road by my Dad whenever he could get free tickets from work for years between 1970-76. Started going to Highfield Road with friends from school from 1977.
So by rights I should be a Man Utd fan.

Mr grandad was president at Leicester in the 90’s and very good friends with Martin O’Neil. We occasionally had dinner at their house with the Leicester squad and stop overs, Neil Lennon massive piss head and pissed the bed all the time
When cov and Leicester played at Filbert street I got to sit with all the top people in the hospitality but my feedback as a 10 year old “I prefer the highfield road pies” couldn’t bring myself to convert even going to school in Hinckley and Lutterworth all my friends supported Leicester and the abuse I took was harsh

Could have been quite a few teams:
I was born in Reading so the Royals
Raised in Stroud so FGR (I do watch out for their results) or local league teams like Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers/City or Swindon
My Mums side all support Portsmouth And my dads dad had access to a Man U season ticket.
Not entirely sure what possessed my dad to start taking me to Cov in the 90s, I think Cov were the closest Premier league team at the time. Must have just caught me right at best time to keep me hooked

Manchester Utd. My great-grandad was Lord Mayor of Manchester in the 60's and got to know Sir Matt Busby quite well (and received a personal invite to the European Cup Final). My mum had loads of memorabilia growing up, programmes signed by Charlton, Best and Stiles (which my grandad later flogged for gambling money!) etc. But sod that, I always hated them. My dad went to see City, they were in The Pink, it was only ever going to be them.

Actually never really thought about why I support Cov before.
Gloucestershire is a bit of a footballing wilderness especially in the 90s. Bar a few Swindon fans my whole school year followed Man U or Liverpool.
Because my Gramp liked United I watched them on TV and had the odd shirt as a young kid. I got taken to Forest Green a fair bit but they were really lowly and didn't capture my imagination. Pre season we'd go see big teams play Swindon but again that never stuck.
In 1998 my dad took me to a surprise Premier league game on my birthday, didn't tell me where we were going untill we parked. Turned out to be Cov vs Wimbledon (id been hoping for Spurs v man u!) Brought me a shirt with Huckerby on the back. Loved every second of the day, joining the crowds of people walking up to highfield road, stopping of chips, great crowd noise didnt even matter it was nil nil!
Ended up going up to the next home game against Derby which we actually won. Been hooked ever since and am currently training my 5yr old in everything Sky blue

Yeah, well I never questioned it. I was born in Cov, so too, my mum and I always thought my dad was too. Was wrong on my dad though and now tracing my history back I reckon I really should be a Notts County supporter. Generation after generation after generation all from Nottingham.
One thing I haven't asked my dad is who he supported as a young boy. He came to Coventry at the age of 12 and was by all accounts a very, very talented footballer.

Both my parents from Atherstone, Dad a massive Man Utd fan and bought me a George Best set for Xmas when I was 3 which includes a ManUre kit George Best Casey and shin pass if I remember correctly. Not long after they split up. My step dad came along a couple of years later who took to Highfield road and that was that. He worked for Chrysler and used to get free tickets in the directors box. We used to sit about 3 rows back from Jimmy Hill.

Born in Yeovil, so I guess I should really be a glover, but grew up around the country, spent childhood years in Norfolk so potentially a Norwich City supporter, but spent my teenage years just outside Bristol & have a bit of a soft spot for Bristol City.
Dads from Cov, but our family came from London I believe and I know he could easily support spurs if we weren't around.
That said, I never stood a chance when it came to supporting the club and if we stopped playing, I'd probably just give up on footy.

I still don’t know to this day how I ended up with us. I was raised by a single mom who didn’t like football. No one in my family or school friends supported us but every year as a kid, all I would ask for is to go to a Coventry game for my birthday. Wish I had asked for Lego now.

Then I suppose Blaneavon. But that would be egg ball mostly. My other grandparents side that came up to work Keresley pit

Just wondering if anyone else has got a solid line back centuries on any particular side, mother or father, of one specific area?
As I said previously, my dad's side is consistently Nottingham and going back to 1600 at least.
My dad though has never mentioned it or ever mentioned Nottingham at all, past our having relatives there.
I just phoned him up and asked which team he supported as a boy and he said no-one.
The City were his first team when he came down here at the age of 12.

All my family born and bred in Coventry. I started supporting City in 1964. Then moved to Oxford when I got married but always tied in my visits back to Coventry to see the family when City were at home so I could go. When City were away I went to Oxford United home matches, Ron Atkinson was their captain at the time and his brother played for them too.
Moved back to Coventry in the 1980's and went to all the City home matches, reserve matches and most of the away's. Not been to Oxford since then. They were always my second team.
Sky Blue blood in my veins and always will be. PUSB.
