O'Brien - 8, not really tested shot wise, but claimed everything and got a good punch away when needed to.
Grimmer - 7.5 An absolute outlet. Great passing, didn't put a foot wrong all game.
Stokes - 7 Solid defensively, still lacking a final cross on him but I have no complaints, played superbly.
Hyam - 7 Solid at the back, won the battles in the air against a very physical side
McDonald - 8, Same as Hyam, but even more effectively.
Vincenti - 7.5 His big gangly legs just do everything. Impressed!
Doyle - 8.5 Great midfield general, clearly an experienced head which we need in this league.
Kelly - 7.5 Same as Doyle, only to a slightly lesser degree.
Jones - 9 Looked dangerous every time he came forward, the Notts County defense were shitting themselves whenever he attacked!
McNulty - 7 Unlucky to get the ball trapped under his feet for two chances, looks handy.
Beavon - 7 No complaints, ran his arse off being a nuisance.

Subs

Nazon - 7 He's big. Well held up for Jones' third. Would like to see more!
Biamou - 7. Can't fault him for everything he did. Great assist for Jones' second!

Great afternoon pusb

O'Brien - 7 Poor, nervous kicking to begin with but improved as the game went on. Could be more commanding.
Grimmer - 7 As O'Brien. Some early mistakes but improved and provided an outlet as the game stretched.
Stokes - 7 Solid and consistent game
Hyam - 7 Solid and consistent game
McDonald - 7 Solid and consistent game. Would look better alongside a more commanding centre back.
Vincente - 6 Languid style and lack of commitment when tackling will divide opinion. Effective game on this occasion.
Doyle - 9 Commanding and full of commitment.
Kelly - 7 Looks to be the perfect partner alongside Doyle. Nice passing and can mix it up too.
Jones - 8 Three fantastic finishes. Some good crosses but some frustrating moments too (would've been a 7 harsh to give less than an 8 for a hat trick).
McNulty - 7 Put himself about and ran around. Provided more of a goal threat than Beavon.
Beavon - 6 Lots of running but no real effective impact on the game.

Subs

Nazon - 6 Looks strong and athletic. Good pace and held the ball up brilliantly for Jones' Third. Could be useful.
Biamou - 6 Nervous when he came on with some awful passing. Assist for Jones was great though. Consistency could be his issue at this level.

3-0 was a great result!!! A solid but not great performance. On another day could've easily resulted in a frustrating draw. Not convinced with the similarities that Beavon and McNulty can form an effective goal scoring partnership together. Plenty to be optimistic about though. Robins has definitely built a squad that will compete at this level.

All did better than ok.
Great to have a central midfield with bite and a defence that coped well under pressure and restricted them to very few chances. Up front and wide we asked questions and jones' decision making much improved. The squad looks good, works hard and every possibility of a promotion chasing season.
V happy tonight

Doyle MOTM for me followed by McDonald and Jones

McNulty will create hat fulls of chances it seems.

Grimmer as I was told good going forward, suspect defensively I thought.

Kelly & Doyle what a combination that'll be!

Hmmm, not so generous in my marking.

O'Brien - 7. Poor kicking at times, but good command of his area and looked quite assured.

Grimmer - 6.5. Did okay overall, but an awful lot of Notts County's attacks and danger came down his flank.

McDonald - 7.5. Impressed with him. No nonsense, got the job done.

Hyam - 7. Quieter than McDonald, but had quite a steady and assured game.

Stokes - 6.5. Steady game and snuffled out quite a bit of danger at times.

Vincenti -7. Quietly impressive. Some lovely cushioned headers and a few nice passing moves.

Kelly - 6.5. Would be higher, but his corners were pretty much all awful.

Doyle - 9. I know Jones got a hat-trick, but for me, Doyle was MOTM by a country mile. Covered every blade of grass, got stuck in, played some nice cross-field passes and made some very decisive interceptions. Excellent!

Jones - 8. A hat-trick and a constant thorn in the County defence.

McNulty - 6. A bit of hit and miss from him. A woeful miss in the second half and on at least two occasions made the wrong decision in excellent positions around the opposition box.

Beavon - 6. Worked really hard, but he was constantly knocked off the ball and out of his stride.

Courtney Baker-Richardson - 0. Offered nothing at all.

O'Brien - 7 - Wasn't tested in terms of shot stopping, a couple of dodgy kicks from backpasses but kicking was pretty decent from goalkicks. Onto Vincenti every time.
Grimmer - 7 - A bit shaky to start with defensively but got forward well and could have had an assist.
Stokes - 6 - A bit like Grimmer but not as attacking, did well with headers
Hyam - 7 Him and McDonald did better than I thought against their strikers, wouldn't have been able to tell he was signed for U23's.
McDonald - 8, Really liked him, did well defensively and played some really good cross field balls. Not to mention him taking their defender on and whipping in a cross.
Vincenti - 7 - Won most things in the air, well guided headers too. His tackling technique was quite funny, good assist.
Doyle - 8 - Ran the midfield, constantly talking. Seemed to win a lot of second balls which we missed badly last season.
Kelly - 7.5 - Did well, nipped in front and intercepted a fair few passes. Both him and Doyle did the simple things well.
Jones - 9 Extra point for 3 goals, looked injured as well. Great finishes, for his 2nd I thought he was going to try and win a pen.
McNulty - 7 I think if he keeps making chances he will score a fair few, unlucky though and was a pest.
Beavon - 6 - Ran a lot and made a nuisance of himself, does things you probably dont notice.
Subs

Nazon - 7 - Seemed to be fast slow, looked rapid but didn't go that fast. Muscular and strong and unselfish to set Jones up.
Biamou - 6. Looked a bit like Bambi at first but settled in well and a great ball and positioning for our 2nd.

Overall, we look deadly from counter attacks now. Jones, McNulty are constantly making runs.

O'Brien 7.5 - Looks more physical than Burge and RCC which is useful on corners and long throws.

Grimmer 6.5 - Few odd dodgy moments, but looks solid going forward.
Hyam 7 - Decent job.
Rodney 8 - Love the look of this guy. Quick, powerful and tidy on the ball.
Stokes 7 - Good shift as useful. Very dependable.

Doyle 9 - Covered every blade. Incredible stamina for his age, looks in better nick than when he was here 10 years ago. Could be a huge player for us.
Kelly 8 - Worked well alongside Doyle. Very tidy on the ball but I was disappointed in a lot of his corners.
Jones 9 - Made to look like Messi at times. With confidence, he should be way too good for this league.
Vincenti 7.5 - Would prefer to see him play more central. Handy in the air, but too slow to play out wide.

McNulty 7.5 - Another tidy game.
Beavon 7 - Worked hard and continued to surprise me how well he can get up in the air.

Biamou 5.5 - Not too sure on this guy yet.
Duck - Very, very good assist. Would love to see more of him.

O'Brien - 7 - not sure I saw the same performance as some. His kicking was poor to start but did improve and when he came for the ball he commanded well. Not really tested.

Grimmer - 6.5 - started poorly but improved as the game went on. He seems a steady performer. If it wasn't for the height issue I don't think he'd be ahead of DKE.

McDonald - 8 - fantastic performance; solid in defence, good on the ball and smart positional sense.

Hyam - 7 - grew in confidence as the game went on and showed he can play when called upon, especially considering he was against two experienced strikers.

Stokes - 7 - looked rusty, but still reliable as ever bar one poor header in the first half when in our box.

Doyle - 9 - great performance. He was everywhere and lead the team well today. He still can't pass more than ten yards, but he doesn't need to.

Kelly - 8 - similar to Doyle. He was everywhere which demonstrates good positional sense. Potentially not the most natural footballer, but him and Doyle are a great combination.

Vincenti - 7 - looked good in the air, closed down well and wasn't afraid to tackle, but I'm not convinced he's going to be an attacking threat from the wing.

McNulty - 7.5 - worked hard and made a few good runs. I think his positional sense and runs will cause issues for L2 defenders, however should have scored twice.

Jones - 8.5 - great hat trick. Aside from that he worked harder than I've seen him before and put his foot in more too (granted still not much). Let's hope his confidence grows as his pace will scare defenders.

Beavon - 7 - really not sure what to make of him. At times he looks good but then I can't remember him influencing the game too much? He will always work hard though and I think his intelligence and pressuring of defenders will help this season.

Subs

Ducken - 7.5 - not on long but played a big role in the third goal. Great awareness and maturity to make the pass.

Biamou - 6.5 looked out his depth at first, but he produced a good pass for the second. Very raw.

Vincenti was more than capable going by todays game dont know how anyone could pick him out as the weakest link or as a lesser player than anyone else in skyish blue, won pretty much every ball he challenged for whether in the air or on the ground.
One of the best if not the best, all around team performance in the last 12 months.
If they were one of the harder teams we are going to face this season then its going to be a good season to be a CCFC supporter.
Bring it on, PUSB!

I am one of Beavon's biggest fans, but I don't think he had that good a game yesterday.

Notts County were very clever with him, constantly nudging him and knocking him out of his stride. Hardly gave him an ounce of space all game.

He did work tremendously hard though, but not a lot went right for him all game. He was constantly tumbling over such was the close attention he was receiving.

I would be happy for every game to be the same. It gave our other players space. It seemed to be their game plan. But we are not a 1 player team.

This is a physical Division. And for once we have the players that can look after themselves.

O'Brien 7 - commanded his area well, didn't have to make any real saves; did have a couple of dodgy distribution moments
Grimmer 6.5 - was solid, but unspectacular. Does like to get forward but didn't do much when he got there. Would like to see DKE for a comparison
McDonald 8 - really like the look of him. Coped with Ameobi well, good in the air and I'm pretty sure he even got forward and threatened a couple of times
Hyam 7 - I didn't even notice he was playing, which I kinda see as a good thing for a centre half
Stokes 7 - agree that he was a bit rusty, but I thought he was tighter, defensively speaking, than Grimmer
Kelly 7 - has a bit of needle about him, which I like. Ban him from corners permanently until he's better at delivering them
Doyle 8.5 - great performance. Tirelessly worked from go to whoa, started a few attacks with some decent passes and just generally helped provide us with some steel. Goes to show what a midfield general can do in a league like this
Vincenti 6.5 - I'm only docking half a mark because I felt like he made a few too many errors, but on a positive side, his ability to win lots of headers (and guide them to teammates generally) was vital in a game where it seemed like the ball was constantly in the air. I do think he'll be good for us this season though
Jones 8.5 - wasn't just the hat trick (though jeez they were three very well taken goals) but he was consistently our main attacking threat, running at defenders and looking to create. More please
Beavon 6.5 - yes, he works really hard and pressures defenders, of that there is no doubt, and it certainly helps; but he offered nothing else really yesterday. Have no doubts he'll play better
McNulty 7 - moved well off the ball, was looking to create and get into space; I was generally happy with his game. Should have had at least one goal though, and I hope he kicks himself for it

Subs:

Biamou 5.5 - it's only one game but I think he's got a fair bit of work to do to be up to standard. Helped play a part in the second goal though with a simple, but perfectly weighted, ball into the path of Jones. I'd be happy if he had that sort of impact regularly
Nazon 6 - on the other hand, Nazon looks like he might have something to offer us. Looks a big lad, but has some pace. Did very well in the buildup to the third goal, and in my opinion showed more ability than Biamou

It's only the first game and I don't want to get carried away but it was a promising start, and I think we have a lot of improvement in us.

A "football blogger" has given Vincenti a 4 and biamou a 9.
