I like how it is "Robins has changed his mind" and not "we got it wrong". (Even though Andy has said fair play he got it wrong).
Or someone had quite word in his ear .
Not so fast there Mark , we couldn't find any quality goalkeepers to sign for us last season , never mind next season !!!

It just seems to me Simon that you just can't help yourself.

You say that you engage sensibly when other do the same, but can you not see how your social media antics and basically saying there are a load of c**ts on here makes people think you're a dick? I'd love to see some examples of where you engage sensibly with people because I'm afraid all I've seen is wind-up, rudeness and ego.

I'm sure personally you are a nice guy, but professionally one day I think when you've grown up a little bit you will look back a bit embarrassed.

I presume you aren't wanting to spend your whole career at the CT. if you're not, you should perhaps consider how future employers may view your antics, as I'm sure you don't want to be a click bait hack your whole life. No offence
1) I don't think I called anyone a c*nt.
2) Thanks for the condescending feedback.
3) I don't consider this to be sensible engagement.

Andy Turner's a good journalist and a decent chap. Nothing against him.

Simon, cut the smugness and show a bit of humility and people will warm to you.

Coming on here showing the above traits and being condescending to all (let's not even start about the thinly veiled threats about "syndication" your tone of post seemed to enjoy), it's no surprise that you've got this reputation amongst people and Coventry fans.

The video was an utter joke as well but I'm sure you realise how much of an "own goal" it was.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Who do you think would win in a fight, a duck sized lion or lion sized duck?

PS - The duck sized lion is from Canley.

To talk about the thread topic, at the risk of pelters, would it not be fair to say both Haynes and Burge were a lot better under Robins and that's why he's seen some potential there?

He has to offer Haynes a contract to get a fee - he was never going to be released

Ryan Haynes and Dion Kelly-Evans amongst those offered new deals at the Sky Blues...
Coventry City have announced they will be releasing nine players at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Nathan Clarke, Kevin Foley, Vladimir Gadzhev, Andy Rose, Ruben Lameiras and Marcus Tudgay will all be released following the expiry of their contracts.

The club will also not be renewing the contracts of Kyle Spence, Jack Finch and Jacob Whitmore from the Under-23 squad.

Defender Jordan Turnbull and Striker Stuart Beavon have the option to leave the club before 31st July 2017, due to existing clauses in their current contracts.

Goalkeeper Lee Burge and defender Chris Stokes will both be offered fresh terms, whilst top goalscorer George Thomas has begun talks over a new deal.

The club have also entered negotiations with Academy products Ryan Haynes, Gael Bigirimana, Dion Kelly-Evans and Devon Kelly-Evans to extend their stay with the club.

The players still under contract with the club are:

Reice Charles-Cook
Corey Addai
Cian Harries
Jordan Willis
Jordan Turnbull
Darragh Leahy
Bilal Sayoud
Jordan Shipley
Callum Maycock
Ben Stevenson
Kyel Reid
Kwame Thomas
Jodi Jones
Stuart Beavon

The club would like to thank all of the players for their efforts during their time with the Sky Blues and wish them the best of luck in the future.
NEWS: Coventry City release nine players including Nathan Clarke, Ruben Lameiras and Marcus Tudgay

Makes far more sense

Three main disappointments from the original/rumoured/fabricated list published yesterday:

1) Burge - he showed signs of improvement under Robins, but he still is not a first choice keeper for a team aiming for promotion next year. Plus, his kicking must contribute about 30/40% to our lose of possession stats.

2) Reid - it wasn't specifically mentioned either way, so there is hope he has been asked to find another club/made available for transfer. Turning up for 10 minutes a game or a handful of games a season isn't something we can afford.

3) Lameries - I know he divides opinion, but he's the only truly creative player we have (or had as the case may be now). With a decent striker and/or wingers who will actually move and make runs he can make a difference.

I'm still excited about the summer recruitment and also pleased he's retained Stokes.

I agree with most of your points especially Lameries might live to regret it. Burge managed to kick straight into touch at Wembley to give possession away .What do they do in training? To be fair the Reid situation you could pin on more players this last year. Cannot get excited about recruitment though think will probably be no difference to previous seasons but I do hope not.

So you think we will get another handfull of players no one has ever heard of?

Except rhe few that can be bothered to google them, and then put the facts on here to make out they are good signings and that they know more about football then they do.

You mean like we had heard of Stokes, or like we had heard of Hunt, Ramage and Henderson?

We need to steer away from "names" and go with players who are hungry to win every game and will do well in L2. Rather than just paying for a name.

Was relieved to see that Lameiras is leaving. Really didn't think he was worth a new deal. Not sure about Burge bitter he's still a young lad, he has time to improve especially as he is a keeper. Stokes is a no brainer provided he can stay fit. Haynes worries me a bit...he looks good going forward but cannot defend.

Turd-gay has been flushed!!! finally!

No real surprises in the list for me, will only really understand the true merits of the decision once we have new signings etc and can judge the league 2 squad as a whole! We ride again!

yes let's sign a team of Joe Coles and Bigi's and we'll be in the conference next year

The only surprise for me was Lameiras. The others are all fairly obvious. I think Tudgay deserves a thanks, he's always been ready to play when asked even though he is clearly passed his best (I noticed he was in the Derby team at the last Highfield Rd game). So glad we kept Haynes and Burge. Burge has had some superb performances this season, not least the cup final. I like RCC too but having two decent keepers is important I think. Haynes should play in midfield and take the defending work away a bit, he's good. I think Turnbull will stay as well, he's started improving and should continue.

Burge has improved under Robins, I don't really rate him but he's good enough for L2. Hopefully we bring in a decent goalkeeping coach once Oggy has retired, Jim Blythe sounds keen.

People say he is the worst in this league yet 6 teams have let in more goals then us but only 1 has scored less.
Say no more.

We have limited money so a small squad but will have three goalkeepers in it and all are number twos at best

If they all stay (not that I think they will) that makes 21 players including 3 keepers. I doubt the squad will be much larger than 24 players. That means another 3 or 4 players to come in. Early days but that doesn't look a squad physically strong enough for L2 and with some players very inexperienced. Would have liked an experienced keeper, going to need a couple of big tough defenders, need at least one or two midfielders with bite, and a couple of players who know where a goal is at least

Will be interesting to see what the squad is come 31st August. Still a lot of things left open by this press release. Got a feeling there will be a few missing including contracted players from this list when transfer window closes

Reice Charles-Cook - could move on, there will be some takers, doubt we'd get a fee
Corey Addai
Cian Harries - may go champiopnship clubs can afford to speculate
Jordan Willis - don't expect him to be here
Jordan Turnbull - not bothered if he goes lacks physicality as well as concentration
Darragh Leahy
Bilal Sayoud
Jordan Shipley
Callum Maycock
Ben Stevenson - a good chance he will leave
Kyel Reid - not fancied by Robbins may also go
Kwame Thomas - let him go utter waste o=f space
Jodi Jones
Stuart Beavon - He may want to leave if he has the option

Reice Charles-Cook - Sell him if we can.
Corey Addai - Still thrid choice keeper.
Cian Harries - Keep
Jordan Willis - Sell him and bring in a strong CB
Jordan Turnbull - Sell him and bring in a strong CB
Darragh Leahy - Not ready to step up. Shouldn't be included in our main squad.
Bilal Sayoud - Not ready to step up. Shouldn't be included in our main squad.
Jordan Shipley - Not ready to step up. Shouldn't be included in our main squad.
Callum Maycock - Not ready to step up. Shouldn't be included in our main squad.
Ben Stevenson - Keep
Kyel Reid - Fuck him off
Kwame Thomas - let him go if anyone is keen. Should be fourth choice striker at best.
Jodi Jones - Loan him out. No where near good enough.
Stuart Beavon - Keep.

I want 10 new players! Realistically we will probably sign four or five.

When they say Beavon and Turnbull have the option to leave, does that mean for a certain price or for free?
