Flag and banner sizes (1 Viewer)

Just incase some of you haven't heard, flags and banners now need permission from Wembley if over 100cm at its longest point. Clearly somebody has put pressure on Wembley to do this and I wonder why. Sisu out banners perhaps?

!!!

I bought a 5ft x 3ft flag for the final from a street seller in Leamington on Saturday morning - my daughter will be annoyed if she can't wave it :-(

Don't think it'll be too difficult to sneak some flags in though, fold it up and shove it down ya pants!

So obviously some one is worried about bad publicity.
Funny how small things affect them.
TJHW were criticised for putting a witches get on Joy the Bitch.
Yes it was a bit crude but it got the spot.
Tim Fisher brought it up at the meeting so it must have upset her wait until she sees the next one:)

They were criticised because it looked like a blind dog had photoshopped it, with it's tail.

The club changed the flag size rules, because they are worried about protests.

They might have *requested* that the flag size be changed, but it is down to the people who run Wembley to make the decision.
Also on that post, Laura Hunter should have been emailing the Editor, NOT Mr Gilbert. He doesn't run the paper, no matter what he might like to think. Poor call from her if this is genuine.

Person paid £12k/year in not 100% perfect professional shocker.

Still, she'll probably build up an ego and Twitter following as big as Crowley, so not all bad.

It was tweeted by Gilbert, so it is genuine.

No one will want to take responsibility for making the decision to changes to the flag/banner size.
It may have been the club not wanting any banners or flags insulting our owners but at same time it may be the Football League who will want a nice uneventful day with lots of happy people so they can tell everyone how good they are.
By making the changes at this late stage will only cause problems on the day. I imagine a lot will try and get flags in anyway just to see if they can. A lot of wasted money otherwise.

Wembley told me it had nothing to do with them. It was decided by one, two or all three of the other parties.

That'll help the telegraph build bridges guess they never want access to the club ever again.

But Hunter is wrong to try and suppress free speech.
I expect she was told to ask. Timmy & co have form when it comes to suppressing any viewpoint that doesn't accord with the owners agenda.

She doesn't speak for all those attending or those that can't, people will enjoy the day, FFS 1st time in 30 years that this opportunity to do so has came about. Tim fishers again proved to be a liar, Sisu don't care about protest he state's, they are scared shitless that the national press are going to jump on the majority feeling that the owners are not wanted by the fans. 42,000 is a big noise and shows massive potential of what can happen with the right people in control, also I do not know of any company that would welcome bad press and they know its coming.

I guantee TF and JS would of preferred to sell 2 players and generate the money Wembley will bring. They like the idea of selling players and Tim in a room explaining it away to a few angry fans who he controls easily. They don't want a mass showing of anger towards them or the business name on a national media platform, they cant control that. Not matter how much they try with flags sizes and whats on them, people will still find a way of highlighting the facts that these are not liked or welcomed. All this shit about Butts Back on, academy talks and FL mediation is TF timing at its best, all designed to calm all down, although we have won the last 2 games we know where we are heading and that with the state of the club should not be forgot.

I'm gutted, that i cant get over, i'm the worst boss in the world this week i hate everybody around me, frustrated, sad and angry i cant be there, but if i was i would be showing all that i hate the way the club is being ran. I hope all enjoy and are safe, would love to see the team win, play well and put a smile on everyone faces, because over the next few weeks L2 will be the oncoming train that is speeding down the track and will not be a nice day for any fan.

This flag & banner nonsense restriction, has quite blatantly come from the club.
Imho, this is a perfect example of petty, childish, & spiteful behaviour, which shows the hierarchy up as a resentful (of fans), & contemptible outfit.

I agree, they are clearly just trying to stop people from taking banners in that make the club look bad.

Oh wait, people are being allowed to take big SISU out banners in.....

It's the Football League that have had a problem. Not the club.

This nonsense went to a new level for me. Decided to take an my old Union Jack Cov flag as it was there in '87 (and can be seen on a few YouTube videos of the 80's strung to the railings at away games) so duly emailed Wembley as requested describing the flag and measurements and politely asking for permission to take it into the ground. Today I've had an email back wanting a photo of the flag plus info of turnstile number and block number. FFS!

Don't think I'll bother.
