Freedom of expression is certainly not the same as racial intolerance.

However, some hypocrites will jump on any PC racist wagon and still be intolerant to peaceful Muslims. Tarring all Muslims with the terroristic, oppressive, gay-hating brush is just as intolerant.

And this is coming from a Christian, who is only intolerant to the human ego.

The only people worthy of mockery are not those of different skin colours/religions but racists who are so fucking stupid they can't see a person's true value. Fucking pricks, if it happened next to me I'd lose my rag.

There's this "famous", more well-known post on Facebook where this guy is having a go at someone who's first name is Islami. "Why would parents do that to their children? Wuy name them after a religion?" He says. Everyone was taking the piss as his first name was Christian! He didn't get it. Just did a search to see if I could find a screenshot but I can't.

As wrong as it was , it was a couple of mindless idiots who could have been dealt with almost immediately.
Let's not make out that we have some kind of right wing racist group following the team.
We as a club can easily take the moral high ground when it comes to this issue.
It's been years since I have heard such songs from any of our supporters and I would put money on it not happening again.

Racism, racist chanting from anyone no matter their colour is simply, categorically, fundamentally wrong.

It has nothing to do with a referendum or a claimed right to freedom of speech. There is no justification for it......... ever.

It should never be lightly dismissed and should always be challenged

There's no reason to bring up Brexit. Can't have the ultimate get out for supposed "Freedom of speech". It's pure hatred of your fellow man. And it's inviting further generations to follow suit who think it's funny. Used to hear this sort of bile on the West Terrace and at away games for years. Hoped it had died with the Stone Island jumper!

Not having a go genuine question, but you say "let people display their ignorance", then follow up with "why aren't people standing up to people showing ignorance"

As I said not having a go, Personally think people should be stand up to people showing ignorance, if they are in a position to do so.

Racists are despicable and should be criticized regardless of color. My point was that you don't stop racism by banning people or trying to curtail free speech. The point I disagreed with in the OP was his statement that those people be banned. They shouldn't be banned in my opinion. Instead they should be openly criticized and mocked. I have never seen a racist change his mind through a ban. Conversely I have seen racists change their views when they become educated.

Actually most insults have been coming from leavers who think the referendum result was a win.
It was for the people who voted at the polls. It's democracy. There is always a winner. The only issue since has been that a small number of retainers are sore losers.

Sadly your first post seemed to have more bile for those opposing the racist abuse and somehow hooked religion in, as per the abusers.
Let's be clear as has been said a number of times, racist abuse isn't a 'free speech' issue, it's about intolerance and bigotry. Decent people stand up to bigots and don't let hate become normalised. No one becomes 'educated' if you don't challenge it.

I agree racists should be challenged and criticized although I disagree with your point about freedom of speech. The reason I brought religion into it is that Islamism is the biggest global facist movement the world has ever seen but it essentially gets a free pass from the left. One of my friends is an ex Muslim who left the religion and then had to suffer death threats from Islamists. Personally a couple of Muslims tried to kill me and my family when we were driving through Malaysia. So don't tell me religion has nothing to do with the problems.

No. I just don't believe you've never heard of Britain First. I don't know you, except from here, but I would put you down as a total c**t, based on your recent posts.
Come on martcov, even after the "Britain first" misunderstanding was cleared up? Racist views have been expressed on this thread, but not by Pasty even if I disagree with his (or her!) politics.

Crazy how we had two world wars to prevent prejudice and discrimination. Now it's encouraged.
Without doubt the world is made up of two kinds of people. Good and bad. Regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion.
The bad people use it as an excuse for the atrocities they commit. The media peddle it. The uneducated believe it.
Terrorism is not a Muslim trait. IRA? Mugabe? Hitler?
Well that's bollocks. The world wars weren't about prejudice and discrimination.

This thread is confusing the hell out of me, was the 1% of Bradford's population who follow the Sikh religion at the match yesterday?

'the problems' ??? what cheap racist abuse at a Cov game aimed at Bradford fans simply because Bradford has an Asian community? That is 'the problem'we are talking about mate. People called it out and good for them.

If you don't see problems I can only assume you haven't spent much time in Muslim majority countries. Personally I prefer to align with people like Maajid Nawaz and Ayaan Hirsi Ali rather than the regressive left. But each to their own I suppose.

Were they at the match?

To be absolutely honest you are utterly clueless, generalising, labelling, mixing and confusing all sorts. At least I'm sure you will wish the Iraqi Army (Muslims), Kurds (Muslims), Shia militias (Muslims), Syrian Army (Muslims), Turks (Muslims) well in fighting and defeating the 'Islamists'....

I wish everyone well who fights ISIS regardless of their nationality or religion. Thanks for your input.

The only one we have to worry about Is singers-pore..Donald trumps right hand man!!

Ah yes, the ad hominem attack when logical argument defeats the regressive left. Remind me again how many Muslim majority countries you have visited? Trying joining some ex-Muslim groups on Facebook and you will then see the reality.

This thread worries the hell out of me. It should have been closed after the first couple of posts but instead has been allowed to spiral totally out of control and has now created hatred amongst otherwise like minded fans, this is the epitome of how division and racism starts. Although I utterly and totally condemn racist comments and actions, as far as I can tell the likes of Singers_pore and Pastythegreat have merely expressed their own views and have not instigated anything designed to cause hurt to others. Now we are talking mostly about thought police which I consider disgusting.
