Ricoh sponsorship (1 Viewer)

Italia said it didn't he? He has now said they need to try and get some of the naming rights money, do you think Wasps are just going to hand it over or increase it somewhere else to make it up there?

My point was how it is "Just need to ask" as if Wasps are some sort of heroes who are very keen to help CCFC out, so keen they put on a "legal action" front to pressure a better deal out of CCFC.

Is the olympic stadium anything like our situation?

Your a bit short on business acumen but I will persist by example.
If CCFC commit to the Ricoh in the medium term the value of stadium sponsorship will increase.
Wasps would be no worse off if they gave us that increase.
There will be many more incomes increasing because we are there.

I guess you will need to your 'Under Armour' blindfold off to see the bigger picture.

If you took some time to read up on the West Ham deal they get a share of the naming rights because them being at the stadium raises it's profile and increases the value of the naming rights for which they take a share as a reward, if you like. It's almost a separate issue to the rent so if negotiated wisely using West Ham as the model it wouldn't be made up anywhere. Wasps would get their benefit from a raised profile for the Ricoh and the benefit's that brings.

The club will move, not much chance of CCFC fans standing up to Wasps. It doesn't challenge Wasps potential ownership of the Ricoh, it has been said the deal would not be overturned. Just that CCC would have to pay damages. It affects their business plan as we are important with regards to income on match days and stadium sponsorship and getting the Ricoh in the news. Yet for all our importance, we will still be screwed over, in a stadium built for us. They don't want to offer us anything long term. They want us commited long term so they can bleed the club dry, something you don't seem to mind them doing, yet have a problem with SISU doing. You are the definition of hypocrisy.

The club will move ? Really ?
On that I'll ignore the rest.

You mean the information I linked you to after you told people they hadn't seen it?

It could be argued that ACL and the rent were distressing CCFC for years. What with the lack of other revenues also. The notion we will receive money from a naming rights deal is ludicrous. We didn't receive any first time round when it was solely to CCFC giving the Ricoh exposure. Wasps will say we have offered a fair rent deal that recognises CCFC's importance. CCFC fans will believe every word, no matter the truth.

ACL had to balance the books after previous CCFC management over committed big time.
The figures showed that the first few years were very tight and I guess CCFC thought once back in the PL the rent would become insignificant.
Sisu must have thought the same when they came in and never renegotiated (unless the Councils preferred bidder said they wouldn't).
A lot of your posts say that Wasps will rip us off but its all assumptions based on your biased opinion.
If they rip us off we will fold and so what would be the point?

Very difficult to make that look credible given we sold our share of ACL, sold our F&B rights and over a prolonged period failed to exercise our option to buy back our 50% share.. or should we continue just to say its everybody else's fault

Don't you keep banging on that they will pick us up for free and not take any blame?

If we persist with this nonsense that's exactly what will happen. They will just put a management in to run us at tick over for a few years. We will see it as better than disappearing.
Sisu need to start treating this seriously, drop the legals and make moves to get the best from a poor position.

How could we buy back a 50% share on a rent of £1.3m per year, with no access to any revenues. Where was the club realistically going to find the money from?

So you were on here telling everybody to get behind Wasps coming in to make us tick over? I don't follow?

We would own half the business that the rent was going into.
We could then have a bigger say on the ACL income streams including our rent.
In reality from L1 we could never afford to buy into ACL or be a higher enough profile to keep it going.
The damage was done and Sisu needed to get the freehold without tenants so they could make some money.

Any plan for CCFC survival involves Wasps. Sisu can have a say in it positively or negatively. How low will we go before they release us, or just maybe, stay and come to the party.

Well clearly CCFC add value but only if they commit to the stadium for the length of the sponsorship deal will the deal be the best it can be.
So there is scope for negotiation, which might involve pegging rent for a long term with a cut of the sponsorship money.
However Tim keeps saying we're off soon so there is no certainty for CCFC or the Ricoh. Result Wasps cite legal noise & nothing is settled.

Lol. So what you're saying is if wasps can get £1m pa stadium sponsorship without us, but £1.5m pa with us, they will give the club the whole £500k pa extra? Funniest thing I've read in ages.

No I'm saying if we negotiate we should get some of it.
If its say only £250K then Wasps gain £250K.
Who knows ?
But until Sisu end this nonsense we can be certain it won't happen.

We're doing this again because there is an issue regarding London Wasps being unable to find sufficient sponsorship without CCFC. italia, as he hates criticism of his beloved wasps, is trying to move the issue on about who's fault it and people are taking the bate. Therefore we're not discussing the issue at hand, he did the same in the accounts thread. Just ignore him.

Sorry but whats the thread on about then?
I'm talking about the stadium sponsorship and the reasoning around it.
Oh I see, its your turn to wear the hair shirt and plead the Sisu case for continuing the legals.
At least get Wasps name right, in their 150 year history they were only called London Wasps for 15 years. The same as we were called Singer FC.

Nothing stopping talks happening now under the condition that to get it signed off drop the legals.
Sisu might drop the legals on behalf of the club and loose any slim chance of gaining millions in compensation for themselves ?
I'll take it back !!

So hang on, CCFC's contribution to Wasps is negligible, they apparently don't need us there and their business plan works fine without us. But they aren't signing a multi-million pound naming rights deal as CCFC haven't agreed a long term deal to stay which will increase the value of the rights. Can't both be right.

You do know that just because you keep saying it doesn't mean its true.

There is zero chance that would happen. Zero. I make that assumption based on the evidence out there. I also give credence to the thoughts of OSB58 above the thoughts of you on this matter. I think you will find most people think the same.

CCFC gives Wasps a positive contribution. Sorting out CCFC will just increase that. Sponsorship is just part of it.

Deal stalled due to CCFC situation is what I said.
Been saying it for about a year now.

I think you will find that well over a year ago, you said they would be the new stadium sponsors, the deal was imminent.

Now please correct me if I am wrong but I am sure imminent doesn't mean within a decade/never.

Perhaps the sponsors are feeling a little uncomfortable at attributing their name to a stadium stolen from the people it was built for.

A bit like the notion that ACL was a business not even remotely reliant on the revenue that CCFC brought into them. The 2 seconds later it was sold for peanuts because it needed to 'wash it's face'

Bullshit everywhere....

So just let OSB58 post on here. We can all just agree with him.
I agree with most of what he says but even he can't work out whats going to happen here.
He is right that Wasps will not throw any money at the club but then I never said they would.

No need to have a strop.

I didn't say that just OSB58 should post on here, that's your little dolly throw out of the pram, what I said is that I personally think, as does OSB58, as do most people, that your assertion that Wasps will buy CCFC is just utter rubbish. .

I suppose if just OSB58 posted on here we wouldn't get all your Wasps PR would we ;)
