ccfcway, bit of an oxymoron, 'the sun' & 'reporting',
tho to say we are 'chasing' him, echoes shades of the benny hill tune, maybe that's my weird take ?
i would say however that john eustace would be a good choice to join ccfc, amongst the coaching staff,
but the stigma of our owners might make him wary, imho, of course

Now he is one ex player I wished we had re signed a few years ago.

I would rather gamble on him rather than take on Evans.

We are chasing him? Shouldn't he be chasing us?

We've made this mistake so many times in the past. Experience for me is vital at this point in time.

Got to be the right sort of experience Torch though, you know what I mean? TM had experience.

We need lower league, shitty budget, gritty determination experience.

True. Someone with lower league experience who is used to working on a budget. Tisdale would be a good shout to be honest, but I wouldn't mind Cotterill. I note that Tisdale is under fire from his own supporters, they've never turned on him before this season.

If were scraping the barrel i would rather give one our academy coaches with the right badges a chance, just because you played proffesionaly does not make you a good coach.

Yep, Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton both tried their hands at management and they were, pardon my French, shit.

Haven't most of our past managers had 'experience'? Very rare that we've appointed a rookie manager.

We won't appoint anyone who has any wage expectations or wants a long term contract in this case till the end of the season - need to get real - we are in the shit - Venus will be asked to carry on for this season at no extra charge - whats else has he got to do

Really? Butcher, Black, Neal, Strachan, McAllister, Nilsson, Thorn...

I think we said the same before Mowbray, so I don't agree with you there. Despite our current malaise we ARE still a big name with huge potential.

We've had a few rookie managers.

Coventry City was the first managerial appointment for Terry Butcher, Gordon Strachan, Roland Neilson, Gary McAllister and Andy Thorn.

A couple of those names still make me shudder!
What, Andy and Thorn?

And Noel Cantwell ISTR. That was a surprise to everyone at the time, he did well considering.

We need experience with a ruthless cutting edge. But they will go with MV as its a cheap option. Unless they sell him for housing.

Agree with the gist of this but Phil Neal had plenty of managerial experience. Boss at Bolton for 7 years....

I guess so, but it was all lower league and he all but failed there. We were Prem then, different kettle of fish now.

As he is on the board I don't think it will be Venus.
