Turnbull excellent again. Its coming, playing well again. Cant wait to see ageyi reid and jones up front together. we're going to fly up the league once we get it right

It's just that word...'once'.....need that to happen soon.

That's a shame because it sounds like we had tons of chances and only have three points from all the games this season.

Much better performance today. Need to start converting chances though.

Don't have a problem with long range shots, at this level there's a good chance a mistake will be made at some point so shoot often enough and you'll score, but they need to be on target.

At the start of the game we were getting forward quickly but later in the game we kept tapping it around. We'd get in a position to cross or shot but instead we'd just make a short pass and have to work for another opening.

There's definitely positives to take, the biggest concern is if our current squad are capable of converting our chances into a decent number of goals.

Much much better. We could and should have won the game but still lack an out an out goal poacher/scorer. Also defensively although we did ok (for the most part) we look frail whenever we are back peddling. I was disappointed that players (esp DKE) allowed themselves to be pushed back into the box unnecessarily.

As I predicted last week, it looks the back 3 thing will be ditched in favour a back 4 ..much happier with that but we do need a decent first choice right back.

I know teams who play 442 against us are usually well organised but when we switched to 442 we were anything but and Northampton started to break through our midfield more often

Do those who talk about how different things will be in September know something about other clubs' transfer policies? Or has some kind of transfer ban been imposed on every team in League One with the exception of Coventry City? My point being that it might just be possible that other clubs in the league will also strengthen their teams

Thought we played alright, think a draw was fair - they should have scored easily in the second half and Jones should have scored when he was straight through.

Think we're only a few good forwards from being a good team

Not surprising given we've never played that formation under mowbray.

2 goals in five matches, at this average we should achieve 18 goals at the end of the season with 27 points.11% of the season gone, maths does not lie we are rubbish

Unbeaten at home in the league. Played a team which has been on fire in the last few months and didn't lose.

Take this and move on.

Unbeaten at home in the league like its a positive? We've played Shrewsbury, Bury and fucking Northampton. Scored one goal and generally played shite. Stop dressing it up please everyone, Mowbray has absolutely butchered the start of this season.

We had 20 shots, 8 on target. More than enough attacking possibilities to score 3 or 4 goals. The problem, most of the shots were too weak to trouble their goal-keeper. It makes you wonder, if they ever practice shooting in training?

Only time will tell.

We are so used to doing well at the start of the season then collapsing post Xmas, it would be nice to pushing on as the season unfolds for a change. Everything in TM strategy suggests this is what we will do. We are 5 games into a very long season and getting stronger as the games go on. Plenty not to panic about

We need a hairy arsed tough guy centre forward, one who wins headers and a handful in the penalty area. I think our defence is okay with what we had yesterday plus Ricketts as back up and Chris Stokes to come back, not sure about right back but young Kelly has promise, that leaves midfield ! For me we are a long way from getting this right, in my opinion the choices of Gadzhev, McCann, Reid, a fit Rose, Stevenson, Jones, Spence just isn't good enough to supply our attack and protect the defence and there lies our problem, I fear we will struggle without strengthening that area, so two players minimum for me centre forward and atleast one midfielder, Mowbray said the other week we there were upto six to come in, let's see.Jury is out on Bigiriamma if he comes off will be a difference

To be perfectly honest I'm surprised we are still getting gates of 10K. Starting the season with half a team is a novel approach. The board obviously think starting with a 15 point deduction brings out the best in us.
But you would hope that there is a long term plan to develop a young squad of players over two or three seasons. But given the short term nature of both modern football and the approach of our owners that appears a forlorn hope.

As it's been pointed out. Since he said this, we have signed 5 players.

Expect 1 more, maybe 2 just because we have 2 loans left
He also said he'd be taking up maximum loans, that's why I'm half expecting 2 .

It would've surprise me if we got 1 tho.

Piperhitz What you are a talking about is using players merely as mercenaries. You spend zero time developing a team. You just bring in recruits who will make a difference instantaneously. Don't even need to know their team mate's names. If that is modern coaching then we are going backwards.
