Hi all!

Bit of a random one here but could someone please update me on our current squad? I'm in Thailand on holiday and as such haven't been able to keep up with squad news. There are a lot of rumours on the forum but haven't had the time to trawl through all the posts to see whixh ones came through and which were just guesses...

Thanks guys!

GK - Riece Charles-Cook 1st choice Lee Burge 2nd choice Corey adaii 3rd choice
LWB - Ryan Haynes ( at the min first choice) and we have just got Lewis page on loan until january from west ham to add cover and competition
CB - Chris Stokes (currently injured due to his knee) Jordan Willis who plays on the right side of the 3, Sam Rickets ( Captain and the anchor in the middle at the minute) and at the minute we are using Cian Harries a young lad from academy filling the left side of the defence, he is a good talent however there is a Finnish defender lined up to give us more experience at the back with at least one more to create cover or go into the squad. this is also supplemented by Jack Finch and Daragh Leaghy who are both youngsters a bit behind harries but both are improving, but not quite ready yet.
RWB - Devon Kelly-evans (another young lad from the academy) has been playing there, however Andy Rose can also play there and will probably be our preferred option due to his athleticism and overall experience. we also have a lad in on trial called kane smith who looks promising who i presume could also play the role if signed.
CM - Andy Rose is an option in here as he has height and athleticism to become a box to box midfielder but will probably be preferred on the right. Vladmir Gahdzev is going to be the one to look at as he seems to look the part and his passing looks sharp, IMHO going to be much better than Flecky. we have also bought in Chris Mcan on loan until january from MLS side Atlanta who won the title with Wigan Athletic last year so good experience. However cant play the first 3 matches due to a straight red card he got on the last day of the season against Barnsley for Wigan. Another is Stevenson from our academy who is probably looking the best prospect of late, for a young lad has great mobility and calmness, passing is good, and works hard for the team may need to bulk up a bit but looks very exciting. Another is Ivor Lawton again from the academy who looks very physically strong, however he is just finishing his rehab after having a long term injury so should see him involved some time in September.
The Front 3 - as you can probably tell this season mowbray has adopted the 3-4-3 formation so there are two wide forwards as well as a striker. At the minute we have new signing of Kyel Reid who is still trying to get fully match fit can play on the left of the 3. looks good with the ball with his feet, very quick and mobile, looks like a very shrewd signing and one we should be excited about. On the other side we have the very silky skilled Reuben Lemerias. He looks to be trying to add goals to his game and looks like he might kick on this season. He again looks very promising. Hes not riddled with pace but can use his skill and football knowledge to get out of tricky situations a very good technical player. The starlet of the squad falls on the shoulders of Jodi Jones who we purchased last season for an undisclosed fee from Dagenham and Redbridge. He is fast and can drive at defenders. Hes not afraid to shoot and will supply us with a lot this season. hes the one to watch as he can create with lots due to his ability. hopefully we don't have to rely on him too much however as he is still young but looks very very good. Jodi can play on either side as he can cross or what he likes to do is cut in from wide and create something, very exciting to watch and is going to be a big player for us this season. we have also retained the services of Marcus Tudgay who like Rickets has taken up a coaching role to help the strikers and defenders in training. Tudgay provides with hold up play in the centre of the 3 which no one else in the squad really provides as of yet. He has probably been the best striker in the middle of the 3 through pre season. We have also signed Marvin Sordell. He plays again in the middle. There's still a lot to come from him showed flashes of a great striker at swindon but i think he is still bedding in a few more games and im sure he will be banging them in, however has nice footwork and knows where the goal is. Also is a hard worker while on the pitch which is another bonus and is considered quite quick. We have also signed Kwame Thomas who played at Blackpool on loan last year. he looks to be quick but other than that have not seen much of him due to him signing while recovering from a injury so needs to build his fitness up before any judgement can be made. George Thomas another from the academy has started a few games on the Right hand side, however he has yet to fully put his mark on the team as he has found it difficult to settle his nerves. He is obviously a very talented guy and will become i think a very good player but may need some loan experience or a few shots to fully grab his shot, but still young and by all accounts a hard worker and gives 100% for the team, so a good prospect none the less.
Linked With: Jack Mcbean ST - LA Galaxies B team (on loan - also played in the under 21s the other day)
Kane Smith RWB - Non League side Hintchin Town (permanent)
Kevin Long CB - Burnley (on loan)
Daniel Agyei ST - Burnley (on loan)
Coalan Lavery ST - (permanent/free agent - not too sure on this one)
Juhani Ojala CB - (free agent/permanent - the finnish defender I talked about)
and a very slim chance but we've been linked with gabby agbonlahor from Aston Villa after being released however probably just a rumour

P.S. sorry if I forgot any part of the squad but that is the breakdown of the squad that i can see. hope this is what you were looking for.

That's fantastic! Very comprehensive! I had completely missed the McCann loan signing and a few of the other bits of info are really useful! Feel up to speed now! Sounds like we still need a few more seasoned players in to plug the gaps... Fingers crossed!

according to the CET - the new signings are "in the building" and expecting to announce today
would expect that to include the 2 CBs including the Finn, and possibly McBean

wings backs are hugely important. haynes and rose scored ont uesday, DKE nearly scored sat

we have haynes page on left with reid and mcann back up. maybe even stokes when fit. so left is fine

on right we have DKE and rose. will that be enough? rose a workhorse and DKE potential. but maybe we need to get 1 more in with experience?

Also got Kyle Spence who looks an exciting prospect .. very direct with very quick feet who can pick a pass and another we seen in pre season is whitmore looked gritty at right back so the futures looking good

Careful - that sounds a bit too positive!
