It is not meant to be ironic. Astute is moaning that there are only 59 current investigations. They are investigating suspicious people not innocent people. The other question still stands.
For example Germany or the UK takes in 1,000 migrants with mental issues. What then happens to the people already receiving mental health treatment, does their treatment then become affected? Does this mean more clinics need to be built just to treat migrants?
It puts a strain on the services as well doesn't it?
Of course, it would be lovely if the NHS could cure everybody and save everybody but it can't can it?

It isn't quite regarding health, but I have seen first hand how detrimental it is to have an influx of refugees / foreign people join a school. Much higher class numbers, added strain on teachers because of language barriers which then takes away from the other kids as more time is spent with kids who can't understand a word that is going on.
Call me racist or selfish for that if you want, but seeing a child who is very bright for her age coming home with a drawing of a hand because she finished her work and the teachers were busy trying to teach so and so how to count in English frankly takes the piss. That is the same for English people in spanish schools also before that question is asked.
I don't go to the doctors much or use the NHS much (thankfully right now) so can't comment on if I have seen anything with that.

I would be pissed off as well. My daughter never had that sort of thing here. She is going to England in September to a college partly financed by the EU. She will do a year in England and her A levels here. Guess we're lucky.

I'd imagine the same if your daughter (I hope she never does) needed mental health treatment but because of a huge amount of people from syria who need it before they hurt people she gets put to the bottom of the list.
Of course, they need help but at what detriment to everybody else and at what point do they start getting annoyed by it before somebody throws the race card?

Might be the same problem as with a lot of the UK. Lots of immigrants in a short amount of time and not enough infrastructure to cope. If true not an excuse for it to happen. But one reason why uncontrolled immigration can't continue.
No, I am not speaking for the German public, but the uptake of events on here is influenced by anti EU spin - especially since the run up to the referendum. Just pointing out things that I see here and trying to correct things - such as Munich - when I can.
I do have a wide circle of aquaintances throughout Germany - because I travel a lot and meet a lot of people. I hear what the right and extreme right are saying - but it doesn't turn me on and it worries me. I also know people helping refugees- and I admire them. So, I am maybe a moderate, but that's life.
Perhaps the latest attack by Muslims in Europe..........you know the one where they slit the catholic priests throat screaming Allah Akbar wasn't terrorists either !! Where will be next ? And MartGermany can't see a bit of danger in what Merkel did, it was all worth the risk.........well as events continue to unfold as they surely will, I hope people keep reminding you that wet blankets just like you are out of your depth when talking about this onslaught. Where people from war zones come over there would be a lot more stuff going on that could give them mental health issues. I dread to think what some of them have seen.
If you take in thousands that need mental health treatment or need to go into a unit, surely that would strain the system?
