Then he won't develop.

How would you expect him to be used if he did sign for us?

He won't "develop" as he's crap.

What do you think this club is? A retirement home for ex players no one else wants and we take them back as sympathy?

I don't, no.

I don't, no.

As he is now. A bit part player. He's not good enough for anything else but will cost the club nothing so we will sign him.

He's no where near good enough to be a regular in a team with promotion aspirations.

I'm not saying you do see him in training.

I just asked, would a pre season under TM, and regular competitive football, help him develop into a decent enough player for us? Or not?

Then you have to wonder after years at Newcastle why he didn't develop? He only came on loan to us and a dodgy loan to Rangers, why weren't teams picking up the phone begging for him to go to them?

Why can't you just answer the question, Nick?

Because I don't have a time machine? Do you?

I'd be very worried if he was our main midfielder, unless something massive changes pre season with him.

No, of course not. But surely you can give a yes or no answer.

If you're right or wrong, who cares?

It wasn't a yes or no question, I have already answered the question in the post you quoted...

This?

I'd be very worried if he was our main midfielder, unless something massive changes pre season with him.

Not bothered if he signs even if Fleck goes, Vincelot, Vlad, Lawton, Rose & Stevenson would do for me, if someone very decent is out there would wait for them to come about than Bigi.
Agreed, I think there's better out there than bigi. For me he is a decent technician but lacks intelligence and the right mentality, especially with his work off the ball. I don't believe he can be consistent enough for a promotion chasing side, so for that reason, I'm out.

I do agree with G, that if this was Bryn morris or another lad who had no connection to the club, we wouldn't be disputing it. Hopefully Mowbray will see sense, but we do sign him I hope he improves and succeeds.

So I am saying it would have to be more than a good pre-season, it would have to be amazing.

It wasn't a yes or no question was it?

Not sure what you are trying to prove or what your point is? Other than you don't know what a yes or no question is.

I was on about your first one. Sorry!

In reply to that one, he would be a backup player at most. Like I said, I'd be worried about him being our Fleck or Vincelot type week in week out player.

Maybe I should have asked you directly, rather than quoting kingofkings.

It was the same question, to be fair ;)

Has Mowbray compared him to Fleck or Vincelot at all?

By that I meant playing week in week out , he struggled to make our bench.

Sorry again for misplaced sarcasm!

I know what you meant. No, I meant has Mowbray said what sort of player he thinks Bigi is? Flecks a technical player, but Vincelot is a ball winner etc. I thought he did, but can't recall what he said.

No worries :)

No amount of training will make him any better technically.

I know you're his biggest doubter on here and I'm not that I agree or disagree on the player in question but the above statement is tosh.

It doesn't matter what sport you're training for, training continually will result in improvement in performance (so long as it's the correct training).

Tennis players hitting back-hand after back-hand, golfers hitting bunker shot after bunker shot, midfielders hitting pass after pass...there'll be loads of studies to show that continually practising something to do with technique will result in an improvement in that area.

Practice makes perfect and all that.

As for the player himself, I'm neither here nor there. If he has a decent pre-season and does well, good on him. If he ends up being shit, thanks for your time Bigi, good luck elsewhere.

Honestly can't see why people have a downer on him. He hadn't played for 2 years when he arrived and has got better as he got more game time. He was very good on sunday and I think that he will carry this on next season.

I thought he was excellent on Sunday, showed what he could do if he has an extended run in the team.

Dont be shocked if TM brings him back in on a short term deal and asks him from the start to fight for his place as an equal and not be restricted by Loan players in the squad. He is a lad that needs games, but will need to prove he can make an impact in his position, he is a DMC we only really have Vince and Finch within the squad that can do that job. So lets see what comes of this summer, i think he showed at Bradford and on Sunday he can do a job, but is it enough to gain a contract.

As for certain people saying he is shit, FFS he is and would be the best player you ever played with if you ever played at all, no pro is shit. Some pro's are playing above their level and in the end players of all ability find that level that's what a career is all about. I hope and wish the lad well no matter what he does or where he plays. He was given an opportunity to make a mint for kicking a ball around which all of us would of took, he never said i'm the best, i deserve more, i need this and that, he took his chance and fair play to him. Not bad at 20 odd being secure for life when you are shit at your job in some people's eyes.

Well there is worse out there and we all agree bigi was very good Sunday. A pre season under the magician mr mowbray and he comes back to somewhere he clearly wants to play which is nice. He was a highlight for us when we got relegated from the championship and was rightly sold for a good fee.

There is a good player there and I would keep him. Seems others agree.

Come on guys, put the sentiment to one side. He offers the team nothing. Putting a shift in is a minimum with the money footballers earn. He doesn't score goals, doesn't stop them going in and passed sideways. He's not good enough.

What is tosh is a suggestion his technical ability will improve with a third division club after 4 years of training with a premier league club.

Do you think that's the issue? I rather thought it was confidence and game savvy where he fell short. Remember that by playing as the pivot he has arguably the highest-pressure position. I think he'll become very good.

So we should sign him because it's pointless him rotting in Newcastle reserves, I'd rather
we sign players because of how they will fit in here.
Dont think he will make there reserves TBH .

Mind you if he comes as part of a package including Armstrong, I'm in. ;)

Not good enough even for us

I like his story and he seems a good kid, but as a player I won't be disappointed if he doesn't sign.

SHOCK as Grendel talks sense!!

Agreed...if we can't get anyone better then maybe, but surely it's worth a good look around the market, chances are there are plenty better out there than him.

That cant be right, grendel says so and he goes to every game.

Of course it's just me. It seems I'm the only interest in your life - flattering really.

Well Grendel, in actual fact, when a player is at such a high stage of learning, like Bigi is, the most productive and efficient way of improving is by gaining experience in a competitive match situation, while I agree he perhaps could have improved more over the last couple years, there comes a point where, real improvements can only be made my consistent competitive matches, which Bigi hasn't had in 3 years. Newcastle treated him like shit, and then he was unable to play for Rangers.
I don't think he is a great player, but I wouldn't mind him signing as back up, and if he is able to impress in pre-season give him a chance.

By treated like shit do you mean he went and played football for a few hours a day and became a millionaire from it? :)

Okay fair point nick ;) But what i mean is, he was playing, looked like he was about to break through, and then just left to rot in the reserves, i might be wrong but don't think he was even allowed to play for U21's

Was there a reason for it? Anything to do with that illness?

Would have thought he would have been loaned out a lot sooner other than the shady Rangers loan?
