    Summary of January business

Don't think we lost anything in the centre of midfield other than Doyle's dressing room presence, I enjoyed the style of football at the start of the season with him in it and we were more patient, but Kelly and Bayliss made the two positions their own and i'd expect it to continue too

    Summary of January business

Agreed, but you'd have thought he may look at selling one of them to get some money if it wasn't realistic we could keep them, from a business point anyway

    Summary of January business

Not sure, but there could be a bigger picture to the January business, especially deadline day. With Ogogo, Doyle and JCH, I'm assuming they're some of our top earners - this may allow us to sit down with the three that are out of contract at the end of the season with a bit of extra cash and...

    Burge, Willis and Davies

Would be criminal to let them all go for free at the end of the season. Gives reasoning to the supposed interest by Stoke in Burge now. Out of all three I'd be wanting to keep Willis - who's been outstanding since finding his fitness. Would you consider selling two to then keep one longer? I would.

    January Window

Allassani is way off first team level - as said above he's been given a second chance after a major injury. Definitely has the potential but needs polishing. I was impressed with what Westbrooke has had to offer, especially given he's a CM. Depending upon Kelly's injury we could see more of...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Peterborough United Match Thread - Friday 23rd Nov

Don't really see where a struggle was for the centre backs - we struggled in dealing with second balls in the midfield area, especially out wide. As a back 4 coming against the opposition I couldn't have asked for an easier night, Grimmer looked solid. Toney looked a decent striker and a good...

    U18/U21 Development Thread

There's a couple of Nee's with the academy - he's u16's, younger around u10's - interesting to see they're in the u18's as they've got to be told soon whether they'll be offered their scholarships - sounds promising for the lad.

    Michael Doyle

I wouldn’t regard him as our weak link, defensively we’ve not won a lot in the air the last few games which has hampered us. Ogogo hasn’t really helped the team out either, we miss sterling most definitely too.

    Michael Doyle

Do you unsterstand possession based football? Triangle football is the easiest way to make space for anyone, that’s what we do, then look for a ball over the top or turn the full backs. Not complicated stuff, but without Doyle it wouldn’t work so far this season.

    Michael Doyle

He’s also completed the most passes in league one with 80% completion, pretty good going for a 37 year old

    Michael Doyle

This is the type of nonsense Cov fans come out with. Doyle is the engine to the team, is essential to the way we play. When he comes short for goal kicks he offers space for someone further up the pitch. It works better with Baylis alongside as he seems to know where to pick up the ball. It...

Match Thread Walsall vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 10th Nov

Thompson did okay, the young lad is a centre back playing right back. As a CB myself I hate being put at full back, positional sense is completely different and it’s a different game out there. He should’ve met the ball for their second before attempting the header back. Even if he got a better...

Match Thread Walsall vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 10th Nov

Cov fans were an embarrassment today, invading the pitch after an equalizer in the second half acting as though we’ve just scored the winner in the cup final. Chucking bottles on the pitch, something else was thrown at a corner too and grazed a player.

    Chaplin's Pace?

Seems unfair to compare him in pace to Thomas who would leave most in league one for dead. Chaplin is decent over 5 yards, but also don't think that's his game to get around a man. He's a finisher who does need to be in the box, but strikers typically come deep for the ball when they don't feel...

    Summer Additions - so far?

Ogogo has been the least impressive so far. His distribution at times is woeful, the Saturday game v Accrington was evidence enough. Sterling has grown in confidence and now seems suited to being a full back - was unsure whether he'd rather be a winger at the start of the season. Mason has been...
