Doh..... Showing my age. Like a load of young lads, the England World Cup win turned me on to the beautiful game much to the annoyance of my dad who was an avid egg chaser.
Early season 1996/7 against Bury. 3-0 to City with Bobby Gould and John Tudor getting our goals. Assuming it was Bill Glazier but might have been Bob Wesson.
Waterfront on Netflix. Watched episode 1 late afternoon Sunday and me and Mrs GE had finished off the 8 part series just after midnight. Great drama after a slowish start. Definitely will be looking for a second series in the future. Plenty of claret, sex and violence !
The character got up my nose as I've met several guys just like him in my life. Great programme though. Watched it all over 3 nights this week and sincerely hope Netflix commission more series in the very near future.
Mrs GE also gave it the big thumbs up despite the 'C' bomb being dropped every...
Me too and with two young lads who decided it would be a great idea to leave their coats in the car. Twas by far the coldest game I've attended. A day for 'enthusiastically' jumping up and down... !
Back in the day, I absolutely adored Roy Barry. But for a broken leg, he would have gone on to have a fantastic career, presumably, with one of the major clubs in England. No way could we have kept hold of him as he was pure quality in midfield as a tough tackling general.
I was on a petrol station forecourt in Norwich when the result came through on the car radio. I excitedly shouted out '4-1' to my then gf's Canary supporting family sat in various vehicles. Other fuel customers then came rushing up to verify that Everton had just beaten us. I can still smell the...
For the life of me, I cant understand the waving of huge flags you see at Bundesleague games. It must be near impossible to see any of the action on the pitch. Just hope it doesn't catch on in this country.
We have to remember what Sheff. Wed did to Peterborough a couple of years ago. 4-0 down from the 1st leg, the Owls came back and won the tie overall.
Any sort of win Friday would be extremely welcome but dont underestimate the fervour from the home crowd and players at the SOL for the 2nd leg...
Was watching Chelsea v Scousers this afternoon and I'm sure the home fans were singing 'Super Frankie Lampard' at one stage. Certainly 'Super Frank....' and I cant think of any other Frank they would sing about ?
