I don’t think Sky were indulging them. They were thinking about money. Increasing ad revenue etc. Trying out a new format for other potential matches with celebrity owners. For me, it was unwatchable but I’d be interested to see the viewing figures for it compared with the regular coverage.

Can you imagine trying to scrap with Ipswich and Boro again plus Southampton, Sheff U, Norwich, Birmingham, Wrexham, all stronger plus Wolves, Forest and Tottenham. That’s a bloodbath. Managerial sackings galore.

In fairness, Hackney is mint but the coms team were way OTT about boro today before they got comfortable. To the extent that they said almost nothing about the handball. Fair play to Boro. Good win for them. Not ideal for us but worse for Ipswich
