It would be idiotic to let Thomas leave before his replacement is in place. Too many things can go wrong in that scenario. Replacement going to another club, failing a medical, not agreeing terms as they have you over a barrel etc.

He's played more as an 8 when I've seen him.

We can ask whatever we want for him but it doesn't mean anyone has to pay what we ask. We also can't ask for top dollar for our players then expect a bargain for Hulls best player. It's all part of the transfer dance but luckily Doug has shown he has moves.
