Yeah you could take glass half full or empty to be honest. I just think with our resources, we don’t have the luxury of spending that money in one of the positions we are strongest. Funnily enough if someone leaves I suddenly understand it slot more.
If we sign a CM, I’ll look like an idiot for...
Not disappointed we’ve spent money but concerned with the squad planning. Doug, To his credit, often mentions how hard it is to compete with some teams in this league. So with our finite resources, is this three right wing players (four if you include Rapha) the best use?
He could be brilliant...
I don’t think anyone was calling for a third winger.
If the fee was €5 million euros, that means we’ve spent £4.3 million on this deal. Surely if true (based on the report tagged in the post), with our limited funds compared to the likes of brum and Ipswich, there’s a better ways to spend our...
Probably no for me.
I still think Rudoni is a class player and as much as I like Hamer, I would want better to replace him.
Onyeka should be funded via sheaf’s fees mostly with some additional like Obikwu put in.
I hate to join in with the negativity but considering where we are, this window...
Agreed on the points raised. I’d expect both of the wingers to play a bit more narrow as well since both naturally cut inside more and would have more space in the middle.
How I’d set us up.
Back five to try and add additional cover and force the pivot up the pitch. Eccles to give some bite in midfield. If onyeka has signed, start him there.
Our wingers don’t seem to want to track back so fine, let’s keep them high and play off the counter like we did at Pompy...
My thinking was in the 3-4-3, you’d naturally push the pivot higher up the pitch meaning you wouldn’t have one CM to cover the midfield.
Plus an extra body might mean we have someone to cover when Thomas or Kitching do something stupid.
