Greg Downes joined the Police in Norfolk. Jim Holton who sadly died too young, ran the Rising Sun Pub.

Players who we signed but never played in the First Team (or played just one game). Go !

For those older fans, I recall a loan player Tommy Langley playing for us in the early 80's, I think Bobby Gould was manager in his first stint. I think he played either one or two games, and that was too many.

Players who have played for us twice in their career (not loans) GO!

Although he didnt technically leave us, Steve Hunt in 1982 went on loan to New York Cosmos and then came back to play for us after

That’s brought back a few memories…I think Pressley scored in a 3-2 loss at home to Man Utd. I remember Dobson scoring a goal in a 3-1 friendly against(I think) Banik Ostrava but can’t recall his league goal. Again I could be wrong but recall Billing scoring a screamer in a 3-0 win at Sheff Utd...

    Viktor Moving on

Really shit article, talking about him predominantly being an ex Brighton player, as the BBC find it difficult to talk about anything but the Premier League and starting with the expert view, and I say that in the loosest terms, of Rio Ferdinand, who has seen him play three times.

    Uriah Rennie

Saw him ref a few of our games, was always pretty decent and the players always seemed to like and respect him. Met him a couple of times and always a nice man. Seems well respected in all walks of life, and was recently, after illness, made Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University. Sad news...

    Your personal City cult hero

Loved Speedie, although was he too big of a star to be a cult. The already mentioned Dean Emerson was great until that prick Megson did him. I always thought John Eustace wasn't too bad when he played for us, as was Lee Carsley, and a special mention to Grendel's favourite midfielder, Michael...

8th Worst Stadium in the Country

Its not the best ground in the country, but definitely not the eighth worst, and far more worthy of a higher rating. A bit rich coming from a rag that is in the shittest 1% of UK papers

    Sky Blues 4 Everton 1

Remember that well, when commentary used to be on Mercia Sound. Total confusion after the ball hit the bar, then they thought it had been given as the ball had crossed the line, and then I think it ended up a free kick to us as a Stoke player fouled one of ours on the follow up.

    Sky Blues 4 Everton 1

Was 14 at the time. Don Mackay was manager and it was a miracle he kept us up, but he did, and then a season later he was replaced by a couple of likely lads called Curtis and Sillett and the rest as they say is history 😃

    Sky Blues 4 Everton 1

Great game, and far more enjoyable than the midweek win against Luton where Kilcline scored our winner in the last ten minutes.
