    Wright

Unless we can get another right wing and centre forward, then it makes sense with 5 high-end players on rotation across the 3 positions, and a 6th CF in Bassette. Still, according to the statistics gurus our problems isn't our above-average attack anyway, it's our average defense.

For those that like (& understand) stats 24/25 season

I'd interpret as: our attack was good; our defence bang average. It suggests we need to invest in our defense, though I've been suggesting a new Centre Forward and Right Winger... Perhaps the forwards are just easier positions to understand than the defense.

    Wright

Lampard probably prefers to be able to rotate Wright and EMC on the left but has little choice but to play Wright up front. That's why for me the priority is a proper Centre Forward and a Right Winger to rotate with Sakamoto. Otherwise you've got EMC-WRT-SAK as you front 3 and nowhere to go from...

    Viktor Moving on

'We piss off' is the direct translation, but I think the idea that we ripped of Coventry works. Or maybe the first - maybe it's a statement of principle: keep Gyokeres, piss off Coventry. Their fans love him no doubt.

Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg Bristol City - Sheffield Utd 08/05/25 8pm ko

Well Sheffield United looked the part. Vs. 10 men might flatter them, but even before that HAMER pulled all the strings. Dangerous, dangerous, but not worth thinking about for two more games. Goodnight!

A win would guarantee us 6th, at least. As to PNE that point vs Brizzle would see them safe, so don't rule out a draw there and us finishing 5th with a win - and we may need to win as Blackburn could beat Sheffield Utd even if Milwall won't bear Burnley.

    2 games to go

Millwall or on a good run, but they throw in some good losses as well. Milwall will beat Burnley on the last day of the season, with the title still on the line? Don't think so.

    2 games to go

Leeds are looking at the title now and won't let off against Brizzle.

    2 games to go

Bristol play Leeds and PNE. They are going to lose to Leeds. So it's 67, 68 or 70 points. Milwall have in-form Swansea and then Burnley on the last day. I don't think they are going to overtake us and their GD is poor. Blackburn have Watford and Sheffield Utd. They could technically get to 68...

    Run In Thread

1 Win and 2 draws guarantees us the playoffs. We would end on 71 points, and without beating us the most Borough can get is 70; those below Borough can only get 69. Brizzle will most likely end up 69-71 or 73. If we get two wins (72) it still might not be enough if we lose to Borough. But the...

    3 games to go

Well that can't be true. We play Middlesborough on the last day. Even if they have 69 and better GD coming in, with a draw, we'd need 4 points from the previous 2 games. No-one else can get to 71. So 5 points to make sure.

Match Thread Coventry City - West Bromwich Albion Match Thread - Friday 18th Apr

Brizzle will end up with 70 or 71 I reckon. Loss to leeds, win at PNE. Luton is the more difficult one to call. Borough looks like 69 points when they come to us on the last day. Plymouth win puts Coventry in the box seat headed to Luton, like with Brizzle that's a tough one to call. So great...

Other results that could go our way: Blackburn vs Milwall we could do with Milwall drawing or losing here that might be it for them given their GD. Brizzle vs Sunderland go Sunderland... Borough vs Plymouth it's not over for Plymouth... Survival run begins here!

Yeah, would we have taken 4 points from these two games though? Probably.

Kitching has been good. No beef with our defense, all their action (what little there was) came down the right, not because they targetted Da Silva, for once, but because it's all they had, and he managed it well overall. Soft goal but that's pretty much all the goals we've conceded. We should...
