Need to sort out the basics with the trains. Timetables are infuriating. Trains scheduled to leave minutes before full time most evening kick offs. No other trains on the lines so don't understand why they aren't adjusted for match days.
I do wonder if Bassette getting capped for Belgium has had an impact on our funds for this window.
Out of nowhere we could easily have had to stump up a big chunk to cover the add on.
Think Ben Whiteman from Preston could be a good bit of business. Had a good partnership with Sheaf previously and his contract is up at the end of the season. He's similar to Sheaf & Eccles but he would given us a lot of depth and a solid spine to build from. Seem to remember Robins being a fan.
He's tiny 🤣 Similar size to Hamer in fairness. 22 and played at every youth level for Norway. Maybe would be better to say he would be an Allen upgrade rather than a Gus replacement. Covered the second most distance in the Erdivisie so got an engine like Van Ewijk.
Joshua Kitolano top of the wishlist for me. Plays for Sparta Rotterdam in a midfield three. Strong, aggressive and good technique and has started adding a few goals to his game.
He's the most Gus like player I've seen available in that he's comfortable sitting in midfield but also has a bit of...
Problem is, if we sell we are in exactly the same position as them with less time on the clock before the window closes. We will have to massively pay over the odds to get someone through the door. Unless we are clear 4-5million over our valuation I don't see how it makes sense.
Really think we would have to bring in two players at minimum if we have to replace him. Would almost be impossible with the time left in the January window. If you only bring in one and they don't hit the ground running we are in deep trouble. Get the feeling Doug will still hold off selling...
He's definitely a squad signing and really you've got to hold him up against Shipley & Jodi Jones who fulfilled similar squad roles last season. Palmer seems to die a death after 65 minutes or so. If he can come in and give us a an option for twenty minutes then it's a decent, relatively low...
Robbie Burton could be a decent shout.
Just released by Dinamo Zagreb. Ex Arsenal U23 captain and Sheaf appears to know him. Huddersfield linked but could give us an extra option in midfield and available on a free.
Could it be the case that SISU simply doesn't have the funds available to sign a new lease even if it's on similar terms? HMRC payment is due very soon and they have been vocal about cash flow issues.
Would a new agreement, even on similar terms, involve any upfront payment or deposit?
