The lack of movement off the ball from him and EMC, when we have possession in the final third, is unacceptable. Just stood about waiting for something to happen.
Can you imagine be second in the league and at home and setting up that negatively in the 1st half. It's the one aspect of Robins management I do not miss at all.
I think we'll win this one 1-5. Robins 'keep it tight until half time and only try and win football matches in the 2nd half' will come undone by conceding in the first 10 minutes, and then it will be an avalanche when they can't sit in and try to counter attack anymore.
I'm glad your health is doing ok Otis. I think anything that keeps you alive is fair game at this point!
I am coaching a lot out here in Czech these days, it's 7th division so nothing crazy, but it's 2 men's teams and a women's team under my umbrella, of which I directly manage the Men's first...
Tactics need a tweak. We need to stop trying to get the ball wide and playing crosses into a box with 3 big Blackburn centre backs and start trying to get players driving with the ball into the channel down the side of the centre backs.
I still think we will win this but damn, we are doing this the hard way. Oxford have switched from playing out from the back to going long and putting our defence under pressure and we’re struggling because of our own poor decision making.
Subs are 20 minutes too late.
All my silly jokes to one side this is exactly it. People are taken in by his physical appearance. He can't win headers or hold the ball up consistently, it just not his game. Or Wrights, or BTAs. That said, I do think that is exactly the type of player that would thrive in the system we are...
It's too dramatic. Simms has just been brought round after being cryogenically frozen in 1972. He'll come good once he's back up to room temperature. I wanted to nickname him Udon because if you watch him trying to win a long ball you'd have better luck just chucking a Pot Noodle at the ball...
