We scored a decent amount of goals last season but so many of them were when we were behind and pushing.
If we can get the first goal more often (which we should have done in lots of games last year) I think our goals against will come down as we will look to be more resolute and counter...
With 5 subs and a hectic schedule this year rotation is likely.
I wonder if we're looking at changing the wingbacks mid-game more often.
Wingbacks are so important to our system they need to be involved at both ends of the pitch.
Antonio Conte rarely plays his wingbacks for the full 90 as...
Depends...
Swansea fans slated Gyokeres and he hardly played for them. Birmingham fans laughed at us signing JCS. Charlton fans said Maatsen will struggle with the step up to the championship.
Just because they arrive with doubts against them doesn't mean anything. Our coaching team have a...
I would be happy with Panzo. Would leave us with:
LCB: Doyle, Panzo
CB: Fadz, Hyam
RCB: Hyam, Rose
Good depth. Isn't this what people wanted?
We wouldn't have to play Dabo or Bidwell at CB like we did last year.
Would be more than happy with Hamer out for £10 mill and Bird in as a replacement.
Would be surprised if we could get him though as he'd cost a decent fee.
Maybe Walker has tapped him up (although I'm not sure Walker talking to him about us would be necessarily a good thing)
Yep. I'm the exact same.
Would be surprised if we ended up in a relegation battle but you're only ever 3/4 injuries to key players from it all going tits up.
Give me 3 basket cases like Derby each year.
None of Derby's level this year but looking like quite a few are in trouble (Birmingham...
Guesswork based on what @Skybluebeliever has been saying about us looking at "fringe players" - I think Bidwell will be first choice and we'll look at signing a back up LWB to develop.
A loan seems unlikely as the parent club will want game time and I doubt Bidwell has been signed on big wages...
With Believer saying there are a couple of fringe players close - it seems like one CB will be straight into the starting eleven and another CB will be a back up
Not necessarily - we may have only had the budget for one, but we'll probably never know.
If he's been 'ready to drop' for over a month why did we delay? Maybe we moved the budget away from Egan-Riley when JCS became a possibility again, now we've moved it back and he's gone somewhere else too...
JCS was almost certainly first choice - if more down to already being here and doing well & known by the coaching staff above anything else.
I doubt Egan-Riley would've been so close if he wasn't next in line.
Frustrating to miss out on another player to a championship club.
Shows we just can't compete with half of this division with what we offer, although I suspect this comes down to style/connection rather than wages. Kompany tries to play like Pep apparently.
Fingers crossed targets 3 & 4...
Makes sense. If you're an established prem team you're probably looking at Brereton Diaz or Piroe ahead of Gyok.
Gyok needs to do it for another year in the championship for the mid-table prem teams to come knocking
