Went to see St Vincent last night in Brum whole gig was a bit flat for me .I had hight hopes for the support artist Cult of Venus after watching some Youtube stuff but it wasn't great just a bit mer .As for St Vincent she was ok her band are top notch musicians and don't really know her music...

Had to travel to Coventry earlier this week (for my son to sit an exam) and found myself with a couple of hours to spare. Popped into "Just Dropped In" to see what they had in the way of 50s/60s originals without any real expectations of what to expect.

I think its better that way that nobody knows about just the muso types that know .There loads of gig there and and the Record shop at Fargo this is best era now for Coventry's music since Ska in the 70s and Rave in the late 80s early 90s .
The best venue in Coventry by a mile very small Sound is great and loud , Drinks are cans and bottles no draft (pint Red Stripe £5.10) . 2 rooms one as you come in with the bar then through to the stage area . Seen so many great bands there over the years .
