MICHAEL KIGHTLY - CCFC Interest ??? (1 Viewer)

Apparantly according to Vital WOLVES Fanzine we are sniffing around Michael Kightly as his intended loan move to Forest has broken down because of Mc larens departure.

25 years of age scores one or two goals ie 23 in 92 games for wolves

Any good to us ???

Andy to Ken: "What about Michael Kightly, we could get him on loan"
Ken to Andy: "If only we didn't have to pay fat Freddie all that money we could swing the deal"
Andy to Freddie: "Your out mate, find another club"
Ken thinks "Damm, he called my bluff"

My Wolves mate likes him a lot but he has been a bit injury prone in the last couple of years. As he is a winger do you think AT might change formation?

When I first read the thread title I thought that joker / fraudster who tried to buy Man Utd a few years back was trying to buy City!

Very good player but he's had a torrid time with injuries in the last few years. If we could keep him fit he'd be potentially an outstanding signing for us. As was mentioned before, he was one of Wolves' star players the year they went up.

Then again, so was Ebanks-Blake, and the Wolves fan I know doesn't rate him at all.

Well, I'd also take Ebanks-Blake in a shot! Kightly would be a great signing. Can I see it happening... Pretty much no!!

i went to uni in wolves, Michael Kightly was exceptional for them... i just text my mate over there and asked if he would accept a bag of peanuts and an apple as a weekly wage and he seems to think wolves would cover his wages. If we could keep him fit he would be exceptional but i still cant see sisu bringing anyone in

Probably went more like this.

Andy: "What about Michael Kightly, we could get him on loan"
Ken: "How old?"
Andy: "25"
Ken: "Hmm, she was good in Atonement but has she been in anything half-decent since? "
Andy: You know less about football than I first thought.
Ken: "Just pulling your leg. You're really talking about that fleet-footed Irish dancer with his legs all over the place aren't you!"
Andy: "Be back in a minute. Just going to get Steve Harrison to shit in a cup. Can I get you a coffee?"

I was hoping we might make a cheeky loan bid now that the Forest deal is off, but as said above, we still have SISU in charge. Yes he's had injuries but a move back to the Championship might be what he needs. Hes very attack minded and a very good player imo.

Cannot see us being in the running mind.

hold on a mo - don't we need fit players - not ones that only want about 6 games to get their fitness back and then sod off in January back to wolves!!!

I doubt we have even the tiniest chance (And I like to be positive about signings). Kightly is pretty shit hot though!

It would require a sea change to current ethos, how many times do we build our hopes up,and then our bubble is burst?realism required rather than blind faith:whistle::whistle:

Clive seemed to have inside knowledge that we were favourites...if so, it can only mean that Wolves are happy to pay the majority of his wages-as alluded to by some others. I'm happy to put aside fitness concerns as the guy is a class above anyone we have-442 rated him the best player in The Championship when Wolves went up. It'll take him a few games to get going, the worry being that's when he tends to get injured again.

My only real question is how he would fit into our formation. He's primarily a wide player, so would this signal a change in system? Or would we try to accommodate him elsewhere, perhaps in the hole or the RCM position with license to get forwards/go wide?

I think he would probably play in the hole.

There is no doubt in my mind that were he to come (as much as a I doubt it) he would be the best player at the club.

do you really think so NLHWC,i thought he was possibly carried along on the wave of half full optimism from the guest tonight

Thought he was left sided ,he had competition from Jarvis on that flank?

He was right wing but switched to the left to cut in on his right-just like Jarvis.

He was great in my FM 2005 Thurrock side. He was an AMR in that. Got him in the BSS and he was with me all the way to The Championship, along with Norwich's Simeon Jackson and Peterbo's Lee Frecklington. So if they wanna hire a scout any time, just sayin', I spot 'em early too..

No, he said something where he implied he'd heard something from the Wolves side. And he did that "excited but a little bit smug and patronising" voice that he usually does when he know's something that we don't :p

My Wolves freind thinks his on £15-20k a week. There is no chance he will come here unless Wolves send him out for free.

If and it's a big if he came here on loan, i'd play him in the hole and give him a free role, he played on the wing for Wolves but drifted in a lot to get into goalscoring positions like McSheffery at his peak. He's probably lost a yard of pace with injuries, so the tip of the diamond may be the ideal position

After working with an eulogising Wolves fan all day, I really want Kightly now even if he has one leg hanging off!

She says he is a wide right player but Mad Mick generally gave him license to roam. He has mostly been on the right for Wolves, but was switched to the left not long before the injury problems started to kick in.

I know we are beggars and can't be choosers, but all the same..We need a loan player...we'll be lucky to get that..we play without wingers...so we make our only loan signing a winger :facepalm:

So really, we're worse than beggars..we're like a bald beggar who had just been offered a hair-dryer. Only it's worse than that, as we probably won't even get this quality player who doesn't fit into our system...we are a homeless bald beggar who has just been offered a hair-dryer, but only if we can provide a postage address for it to be delivered to.

Beat that, Holloway :p
