Despite northampton being 35 miles closer to me than coventry its a fucking BIG MASSIVE BOYCOTT from me too

You are very much the minority
I know it is sad to think that too not there is more people at sixfields which in my view would help but don't blame any boycotters I blame both sides SISU/ACL for this but to see there are so little cob supporters with season tickets is bad.want it the other day their was so little season ticket holders that they could have a phone call individually with all of them very sad !! ! Oh well look forward to the footy next season #PUSB !!!!

My point is that Northampton is an away game. We play 46 away games a season.

The average attendance in Northampton is similar to away games. The statistical correlation would logically therefore conclude that distance here is a critical factor than an emotional reaction. I am sure many people who attend in Northampton also attend away games. The evidence staistically is overwhelming.

If the club had ground shared much closer to home (say Solihull or Leamington had an approved FL ground) the crowds would be much higher -- distance is clearly a factor.

I think the distance is a factor for many, and I agree that if they did share closer more would go. I also think many people went to the MK game to prove that distance wasn't the issue for them.

I will try and attend at least 10 games at Sixfields if I have to.

Whichever way you look at it there is no boycott. It is just the distance that is the major issue - its too far for many and midweek a complete no no.

It takes me just over 4 hours to get to Coventry. That is without hitting bad traffic. Northampton would be only 30 mins extra. I go to games much further than Northampton. So why won't I go to Northampton?

none of this is rocket science,
sisu / arvo / otium have abused fans to the nth degree, & as such will suffer the consequences,
this, in the form of an all round reduction of support for the club,
treat the fans as such & you will end up with exactly what you deserve,
imho, seppala/coleman are not owners but incompatant controllers,
i seriously wonder about the investors,
have they really put their faith/money in the hands of this lot,
& then this is all compounded by having, imho, a charlaton called fisher as ceo,
f.o.s. & p.u.s.b.

What utter Shite.

So we have been made to feel at home in shitfields nothing to do with the money????????

Sorry hate to use this word but you are a right twat.

I know you still don't get it.

The Ricoh has never ever felt like home (despite the fact I've tried to embrace it with a season ticket from day one), unfortunately the football club (CCFC) has never ever been made welcome there!

Please check ALL the facts, if the club go back there it will have to be on very different 'terms & conditions', I will then have to consider my situation and position.

And before you presume, no I don't like having to go and support my team in Northampton (or anywhere else outside Coventry) but we are where we are because of who or whom?

The answer will be revealed shortly.

To answer the OP. I'll take a few trips to the hill, only made one last year towards the back end of the season and it was OK. For 30-40 people it was a good atmosphere, very jovial and welcoming, from what I witnessed it was certainly better than what was in the ground. If you are thinking of going to suxfields I would recommend giving this a go first, you can see for yourself how awful it is inside without assisting the bank rolling of our team being held for ransom and if you decide that you still want to pay to get in (which is your choice) you will at least be making an informed decision before doing it.

Hopefully sense will prevail and we will be home for the start of the next season and no one has to make the unnecessary decision of whether to attend or not.

. I managed to get to Carlisle, Hartlepool, Crawley and Colchester and many other grounds this. You are though correct Northampton is always likely to be too far away for me to attend a home game. Your use of statistics is ridiculous - Its safe to assume you aren't a statistician

I think the distance is a factor for many, and I agree that if they did share closer more would go. I also think many people went to the MK game to prove that distance wasn't the issue for them.

What Grendel argues is nonsense as the MK stat shows, if it was distance then MK being a similar distance to Northampton surely attendance there would be similar, but as the detailed information in the graphic above shows actually it was 6,781, far bigger than any 'total' attendance at Sixfields and more than 4 times that of the average 'home' attendance at Northampton.

No there is a clear moral issue here, but morals are something Grendel struggles to understand.

No. Just no.

C'mon man, even at your most mischievous you can't seriously suggest there is no boycott on home games?

The sooner people realise that going to "Shitefields" is prolonging our plight the better. If Shitsu keep getting income they have something to hold on to. Lets get back to the Ricoh ASAP . NOPM. and that means NO buying season tickets !! BRING US HOME !!BACK TO THE RICOH,THE RICOH`S OUR HOME

If you're making the argument that distance is a factor wouldn't you need to account for how far away a ground is? Stands to reason that if distance is a critical factor the further away the bigger the impact. You would also have to account for ticket availability, have any of our away games this season been sold out for visiting fans?

Looking at games that are relatively close to the same distance as Sixfields we have:
MK Dons 6,781 (sold out?)
Notts County 3,866 (no idea if this was sold out as it says visitors end holds 1,300 so something isn't right there!)
Port Vale 3,148
Walsall 2,138 (sold out?)
Wolves 3,406 (sold out?)

Comparing our away attendance (2nd highest in the division) to an average home attendance which includes away fans of 2,348 (the lowest in the division) would seem to indicate that the problem is not just that Sixfields is too far away.

Worrying about "the boys" is way down my list of priorities right now.

If sisu are to be believed I will never see my club play in my city ever again.

For me that takes precedent over the feelings of 11 grown men.

Well I don't think football should be about worrying about political and business problems and should be about supporting your team through high and lows so the 11 men will and always will be my biggest concern but very very closely the stadium problem which should be resolved !!!#PUSB !!!!!

Your right in that football should just be about what happens on the pitch.

Unfortunately until its on the correct pitch that wont be the case.

I didn't think I needed to add that the pole was to show a change in attitude not giving up !!! Hope you don't give up hope we will be back one day !!! #PUSB !!!!

I selected I will not enter the ground as it was the closest. I'm not doing this season again. Next time I see City in person will be when we've got new owners.
