Just had a read of that and it made me think that is the 'Get Cov back to the Ricoh' group the one that protested outside the Council House with the backing of Les Reid. I was wondering what they have done since considering that they said they would be pressuring all parties involved. I might have missed it but can anyone else remember them since the handful were outside the Council House ?

For some reason they get air time on CWR, I'm sure I've heard them twice.. , anyway its only a couple of people (Rob Stevens & Stuart Cosgrove) I don't think there is anyone else working with them, except maybe Les Reid, they've no established popular support.

“If all routes back to the Ricoh are closed and the spade is in the ground for a new stadium then yes, we will support a new ground,” said Rob Stevens, co-ordinator of the Get Coventry Back to the Ricoh group."

So the Get Coventry Back to the Ricoh group will support a new ground

Am I the only person who facepalms at the last picture. They've got the "SISU OUT" sign backwards >.<.

Never heard of 'Get Cov back to the Ricoh', but i guess more voices are better than none.

Not when they're sponsored by Sisu ;)

The GCBR

is now the

GCBRUASISBSEM

Get Coventry Back to the Ricoh Unless Another Stadium Is Somehow Built Somewhere Else Meanwhile.

Like to see them get that on a t-shirt.

I think anyone supporting a new stadium build outside the city is moronic. I think that anyone offering support for the new stadium whilst we play outside of Coventry is also moronic.

Now if they were to say we are moving back to the Ricoh whilst we build our new stadium, which is (for arguments sake) on the Ryton site then yes then I would offer support.

no you not, but you must be able to see that supporting "Not one penny more" and then giving SISU FA Cup ticket money is counterproductive.

I can see why you would think that. But taking "not one penny more" so directly is pretty silly dont you think?

I am not sure how that is too direct with a campaign called "not one penny more"?

Nick it is like the suggestion people would have to cancel their Sky subscriptions because of a trickle down of revenue through the Football League.

Putting it another way. It is like someone thinking that if you support a particular political party it means you have to agree with all their policies.

It's an absolute nonsense and you know it.

Good timing there. I think everyone has realised NOPM is virtually impossible. Doesn't mean we cant support the idea of it, especially towards home games at sixfields.

The campaign is "Keep Cov in Cov". NOPM is a slogan.

Do you vote based on policies or a slogan?

Do you support slogans?

I have nothing against people who want to go to Barnsley, it is just when people get slated for going to Sixfields or buying a replica shirt for giving SISU money but it is ok when people want to go to Barnsley.

I wonder how many people would support the slogan if we got to a cup semi final / final or a big draw against Man Utd or Chelsea.

Exactly, I think most people accept that NOPM means not going to Sixfields and not buying anything from the club shop but there seems to be a handful of people on here that jump up and down about people not sticking to NOPM at any given opportunity. Noticeably most of those people didn't seem too bothered when the Get Cov Back to the Ricoh campaign announced they were happy to support a new ground!

I'm pleased you can bend the "rules" so easily when it suits yourself. Nice one.

The contribution from sky is a fixed amount and not variable to every subscription so the comparison is not valid.

Going to a game gives revenue for every ticket sold.

I have not slated anyone for going have I? Or for buying a shirt? I have already said in the past that I would go to a cup semi or final. Whether it be Chelsea or Barnet.

So you believe that if Sky saw a big drop off in subscriptions / viewing figures they would still pay the same amount when the rights are due for renewal?

1. Attack anyone who goes to Sixfields, buys merchandise or anything that gives SISU money. NOPM! SISU OUT!
2. Forget the above if you want to go to an FA Cup match where SISU will get revenue.

Maybe not necessarily you personally, but that seems to be how these things generally work. Slag someone else off for doing something until you want to do it yourself.

I would love to know what the hell you are talking about. Rules? Behave.

It is a slogan more about not supporting a move to Sixfields than not supporting the team.

I personally would not go to Sixfields for the games you state actually. The only game I would go to is Northampton as an away tie in the away allocation of tickets.

The other thing is Nick, although I wouldn't go to Sixfields, I have put several posts on saying people have the right to choose. You don't appear so open minded about what you choose to criticise and what you defend.

Then fair play for you for not having a go with what people choose, it is more aimed at the people who shout people down for going to games and buying shirts but are straight on the coach to Barnsley. Apologies for it being so "general".

Game, set, match. I am not a child. So do not suggest I can bend the rules when I like.

I think they'd survive with the 3,000 or so regular Coventry fans not paying the subscription.

That's a truly desparare response.

Where did I mention only Cov fans? You stated that cancelling subscriptions would have no impact. In my opinion if, for any reason, Sky saw a large drop in subscriptions and / or viewing figures it would impact the value of the rights at renewal.

I am not preaching to anybody. :) I hope more people do go to games whether it is Sixfields or Barnsley, not for SISU's benefit but for the fans own benefit of doing something they enjoy.

This is an issue only about Coventry fans and handing money over at Barnsley is totally different.

Your clutching at straws and you know it. Perhaps its guilt.
