a move like this would make no sense sheffield won't go up this season would be a sideways move and would cost around 1m

they've got more chance of going up than us though haven't they....and they could easily quadruple his wage or more.....and he'd get to play in front of a decent crowd every other week.....

The owners have stated they have funds to sustain us for many years so this would make no sense. Keeping this young talent in Northampton would be Tim Fisher's preferred option I guess.

They would be mental to sell Wilson. He is a key member of the team.
Hope SISU realise this, or do they want zero fans.

I can't see him leaving for anyone in our divison just yet. Look at his point of view, he's been with us since what, 8-9 years old? Dreaming on being a star striker for the club, he finally gets his chance after we've stuck with him for year after year of injury issues. He even said yesterday how much he owes Pressley for giving him a chance. You think he'd jump ship at the first chance, move 2 hours up north? I'd be more worried if it was Clarke they were after because at his age now, he might be thinking his times running out to be at a club pushing for higher

As I have repeatedly what has sisu done in their 6 years ownership of our club to compliment the playing side of our team and the answer is zilch and the reason we are in division 3, forget the ground issue, forget the politics, ACL. Council, Higgs charity. Not only have sisu run up astronomical debt dumped it for an administrator to sort out but they have sold and sold and sold. We have 1500 home fans now which will reduce and selling players such as Callum Wilson, if true reduce that figure. Yet I am told under Tim Fisher's guidance sisu have learned from their mistakes.

Lee Carsley was very popular with the academy lads and that's a concern.

I have every faith he will stay. Would be silly to go.

Why's that ???

Anyone in their right mind should get out of this club while they can its a bloody mess...it's different we're fans so of course were gonna say he has to stay etc but soon as you put yourself in the players position it's a different story...

I would argue that CCFC have always sold.....and its been no different under Sisu...

there is a whole fucking tree full of sticks to choose from.....

.....but selling players (many of which they initially bought in) is not a particularly good stick to beat sisu with...

I would beg to differ, they would turn against those for the NOPM campaign.

Well, sorry to be blunt, but if they blamed NOPM they are fucking twats. Wilson is under contract to us so we are under no obligation to sell, Fisher has said SISU are here for the long term and will fund the shortfall, and I hardly think the salary of someone of Wilson's age and experience is crippling the club.

No, fuck off Fisher, if he goes its because you want to cash in, NOT because we can't afford him.

I don't think any of our 'higher calibre' players would leave for a league one side, certainly not Sheff Utd. Don't they have financial problems as well, obviously not as high profile as us. I can't see them doing anything this season to be honest.

It's one of those things though where nobody actually wants to buy our crap ones.

Which is why players like McSheffrey, Jennings and Malaga are still on the books.

Luckily we haven't got Thorn here to buy up any more crap now.

And under priced, we got just £750000 for Ben Turner, bugger all for Gunarsson both would command 2 or 3 million quid now.

SISU took us to Northampton and a lot of people can't go regardless of NOPM. If everybody decided to go who went last year they couldn't fit us in so SISU have cut the income in there stupid plan.

I said to my owls mate the other day. Supporting a team like ours is a nightmare when you get a good up and coming academy player. Because on one hand, you are almost proud of him, as if he is your own son and when he scores another goal you think, get in there son! And then the realisation dawns that the more goals he scores, the quicker he leaves the club. In this day and age of lower league football, if you have a real good talent you can only enjoy them for a few months and they are snatched away...in this case 4 games???? Now that makes you question all that is wrong with football today.

So yesterday it was Baker that was interesting Sheffield United and now it's Wilson.. Being speculation at this point I don't believe it, I don't see why Callum would want to leave us for the Blades anyways, they haven't started well at all this season and I don't think they'll be up there like others do. They don't have as strong as squad as the likes Wolves, P'boro, Bristol City or Brentford and I would go as far as to say that we look stronger at this moment then the Blades. While Callum is banging them in left, right and centre and forming a good partnership with Leon, it is essential for his development to continue here with us.

City need to sign him on to a better deal tho as he was only given a one year deal at the end of last season!

Money always talks. Makes no sense to me but if Sheffield utd treble his wages then bye bye Callum.

we said bigi would not go he did not want to go either and then hes gone nothing new there we are a selling club always have been but SISU will not help the cause of getting fans back by selling players that are cheap on wages and doing well for the team. Would not suprise me if he is sold though to recoupe some of the millions they say they have put into the club and then blame the council ACL and the stay away fans everybody bar themselves :censored:

You are comparing the sale of a bright prospect to a stuttering team in League One too a bright prospect being sold to a Premier League club, who were due to be playing in Europa League.

Big difference

same as it ever was....

All our best players get sold....from Wallace to Gillespie to Gallagher to Dublin to Keane etc. etc. etc.

Yes we used to always sell our top stars in time but these bastards sell them after 5 minutes. Not just the odd one who we'd try and replace either, sisu have sold everyone they can get money for.

not really a player that wanted to stay here and told he had to go same will happen if the money is right makes no difference if it is top division or championship ect ect.
