If Pete is doing any more of those supporter group meetings definitely worth asking about.

Think he mentioned on another thread a few weeks ago he is no longer involved
Wasn't sure if it said he had left or was leaving at some point in the future.

I think tickets will always float about like it, there will be tickets reserved for players etc and then if they don't take them up, they go on sale and things like that.

There will be one empty seat in Block 10 (My own, due to holiday) if nothing is implemented before the Brighton game

🤷‍♂️

I've been told the exchange should be sorted before the Brighton game.

Assume they want to sell the remaining seats they have first.

Plus they are looking into ways ST holders can transfer tickets to others if they can't make a game (like other clubs allow).

They haven't worked out how it will be done or when it will come into effect.

I'd imagine it's how they can monetize it.

Presumably they mean how they will monetize it as the functionality is already built into both the ticketmaster system we sell tickets on and the fortress system we use for the turnstiles.

I think if the club made it so that you could only pass on your ticket (for free) to someone who had already previously bought a membership for the season, that would be a reasonable compromise if they are insistent on not just allowing direct transfers like other clubs do.

what pisses me off is all of the "come on guys, support your team. we want every seat full...".
and then you see the number of empty seats, particularly in the family corner.
it's clearly not working very well, is it.

what's wrong with - if you can't make the game, and we can resell your ticket, you get half we get half.
and/or, let someone in your family have it. as long as they are members, so we know who is setting off flares and invading the pitch.
anything is better than the current arrangements.

If you remove the ticket from your phone wallet and send the email with your season ticket download link to someone else, they can then download the ticket to their phone. Obviously only useful when sharing a season ticket with family or friends.

You will benefit from reading a formal complaint regarding a significant and unpublicised change to the Season Ticket Terms and Conditions for the 2026/27 season I’ve just written to Nicola Ibbetson that is set out below.

In the 2025/26 T&Cs, Section 7.1 stated that supporters may not sell or lend their Season Ticket for value. This wording allowed fans to pass their ticket to a friend or family member for free when they were unable to attend.

However, in the 2026/27 T&Cs, Section 7.1 has been altered to state that supporters may not sell or lend their Season Ticket for value or for free. This is a substantial change to supporter rights and removes a long‑standing flexibility that many fans rely on.

This change was not clearly communicated during renewal or purchase. Supporters were not informed that a key benefit — the ability to transfer a ticket for free — was being withdrawn. This is especially concerning given that many fans, including myself, have paid extra for Premium League Packages in previous seasons partly because the ability to share tickets made the cost worthwhile.

Furthermore, the club’s own Digital Ticketing webpage states that digital tickets “make managing and transferring tickets easier, providing greater flexibility when you are unable to attend a fixture.” This statement is now misleading and contradicts the new T&Cs.

The consequences of this change are already visible: large numbers of empty seats in areas normally filled by season ticket holders, despite high announced attendances. Supporters who cannot attend are now forced to leave their seat unused, reducing the atmosphere and penalising loyal fans.

I’ve requested the following:
  1. A clear explanation of why this change was made.
  2. A justification for why supporters were not informed during renewal.
  3. Clarification on why the Digital Ticketing webpage continues to advertise flexibility that no longer exists.
  4. A review of this policy with supporter consultation.
  5. Consideration of reinstating free transfers for 2026/27 or providing compensation to affected season ticket holders.

Bollocks. Complete and utter bollocks!

I want to send a ticket to a mate who's on their arse financially, but they need to have shelled out forty pounds quid in advance, on the off chance that I might be indisposed for a game?

Sorry, I can't get on board with that.

How, realistically does the club determine the difference between you helping your mate out and a ticket tout? I think that's the tricky part that's driving all of this crappy, customer hostile friction with e-tickets and season tickets.

Suppose they leave it to supporters to manage

I suspect the elegibility criteria is sufficient to exclude most on here. 😁 I include myself.

Supporter social media account does not contain offensive or defamatory content that is deemed inappropriate or would bring the FAB into disrepute.

Great stuff.

I'm seriously pissed off with the lack of communication about this issue, and the optics from Hull were frankly embarrassing.

Can you share the email address please?

I'll happily cut and paste your concerns and hopefully others will too.

Would be nice for them to put them all on sale in a timely manner to allow it then.

We've had games as showing as sold out for quite a while then suddenly a new batch of tickets become available.

You can't sell out if you don't put all the tickets on sale.

I do find it daft that they don’t just open the exchange straight away for all games at least this side of Christmas. They must be forecasting sellouts anyway so it’s just a cost of doing business surely.

Not saying this is definitely the reason, but one of the ways clubs seem to be tackling touting is to issue tickets as late as possible and similarly it's probably a good anti-tout measure to only allow transfers really late too. Like 1 or 2 days before the fixutre.

Again though, most of this friction is overcome by touts anyway. They always find a way.

What's to stop a tout buying a membership?

But if it’s season ticket holders selling back to the club, there’s no physical transaction. The club would just deactivate/not issue the ST for that game.

Nothing - I wasn't suggesting membership is the option. But I think like many things - it's not about perfection - it's adding enough friction and disincentive to minimise the problem, you will never eradicate it.
