Ive said this for such a long time. When people tell me im only jealous that Man City were bought buy rich owners and not us etc.

Im far from jealous. Im much happier we've done it our way. The hard way. Its all well and good atm whilst Man City are winning titles and sit at the top. But doing it all whilst being bank rolled isnt sustainable. What happens when Sheikh whatever his name is decides that bank rolling a football club isnt in his plans any longer? Or just simply owning a football club is no longer the fashionable thing to do and they all move on to Baseball or Water Polo! Where are they all left then? In the same position Lesta currently find themselves in! And I for one cant wait to see the meltdown when Man City are bankrupt in L2. And PSG are playing away at Reims in the 3rd division with a wage bill they cant afford without their Arab Royalty money!

Great post. We've done it the hard way, without parachute money, without a billionaire sugar-daddy buying it for us.
Leicester's story wasn't really giving us the hope that anyone can achieve success at the very top, they had it bought for them. Their story continues today, like a feel-good film with a happy ending

Getting a few of my rival fan mates(I should really sack them off) sending me the video about our stadium with empty seats at the 3rd goal. With zero context that people are still getting beer and in the concourse at that time. I missed the EMC tap in for the same reason.

If that's all the rival fans have got, then we must be doing something right.

25 years. 9,113 days. Coventry City are back in the Premier League. 🩵 Some moments in sport transcend the scoreboard — and last night at Ewood Park was one of them. I exited my shareholding in Coventry City roughly two years ago, but watching Bobby Thomas head in that 84th-minute equalizer against Blackburn (sealing promotion with three games to spare) I felt every one of those 9,113 days. This club fell from the Premier League in 2001 to League Two by 2018. They played home games in Northampton and Birmingham. They nearly ceased to exist. And through all of it, the fans stayed. What Doug King has built since taking over is exactly the kind of ownership a club like this deserves — grounded, local, relentless. Frank Lampard finished what Mark Robins started. And the fans? They never wavered. I had a small part to play during one chapter of this club's journey — one that was complicated and hard-fought. The Guardian kindly asked me to reflect on that time. But today isn't about any of that. Today belongs to the city, the supporters, and everyone who believed when belief wasn't easy. Congrats to the fans, the City and to Doug King and team. Also, a massive thank you to Joy Seppala for being a great partner and building the foundations, without proper credit, to make this move to the Premiership even possible. If I have to find my way into the folklore of a football club (even though it wasn't exactly a true story), I couldn't think of a better one. Sky Blues. Premier League. Well earned. 🩵 #CoventryCity #PUSB #PremierLeague #Football #Leadership #SportsBusiness #SkyBlues #ChampionshipFootball
