This season he’s had a great year but over the last 2, has been the better player? No.

Millwall are having a great season but that doesn’t mean their players will necessarily continue that elsewhere. Look at Tanganga, ironically left for a team with a better chance of promotion and hasn’t hit those same heights at a team struggling in midtable.

As tempting as it is to handpick some of the best EFL talent upon promotion, we need to diversify our recruitment imo. There’s definitely Prem quality in the Championship but there needs to be know-how if we’re to stay up next season.
Im not saying to sign him, Im saying why he is ahead of MvE in my Team of the Season

3 players from the runaway champions if that’s how it goes

Surprised no ones mentioned Downes from Southampton. Ran the show at the CBS the other week.
I've not seen too much of him so appreciate he could have been dogshite the rest of the season.

None of us watch other teams week in week out so it's pretty difficult to say which opposition players are better than our own

Agree downes was good Vs us. But not having anyone say with conviction that crama is better than mve. Simply because unless you watch every Millwall game how could you know?

I wouldn't be surprised if half of the team was chosen from ours. I also wouldn't be too surprised if we only got 1.

Middlesbrough are the best side in the world. Southampton are even better now they've done what most Prem clubs couldn't do all season. Ipswich are fantastic and Hollywood deserves a mention.

How may players do you think should reasonably be in there?

Grimes imo is the most important player in the league, but Louza is similar and has more goal contributions and therefore, a higher ‘match rating’. Likewise, I think MVE is a better player than Brittain and Crama. They’ve just had slightly better seasons this year.

I’ve gone with what I reckon the TOTY will actually be.

Crama would be unlucky not to get in. He has played CB a lot this season as well so they could slot him in there to accommodate another RB. I’d pick him over Harwood Bellis who didn’t have a good first half of the season.

Vipotnik has to be in there, he's nearly doubled his xG with goals and is top scorer. He's scored 18 goals from an xG of 9.43.

Wright has scored 16 goals from an xG of 15.9.

Been thinking for a while that Rushworth should be championship POTS. I can’t think of anyone who has played so well, so consistently and with such a clear impact on their team’s results. You kind of suspect it’s just going to be Hackney but that’s harder for them if Boro drop to the play offs.

I think Louza is one of those easy picks. I like him, very good on the eye but since around Xmas when he was at peak glazing he's disappeared up his own anus hasn't he? Even Watford fans have been saying this.
I agree they'll put him in but should be Grimes all day, every day.

Currently, it’d be Vipotnik > Wright for me. IMO Wright is a better player but undoubtedly atm Vipotnik has had a better season.

McBurnie has the joint most goal contributions so deserves his flowers too which is why I’ve stipulated ‘the top scorer’ because that’s what o think it’ll come down to personally.

Correct me if I’m wrong, weren’t be vaguely linked to Vipotnik before he went to Bordeaux?

GK - Rushworth
RB - MVE
CB - Crama
CB - Hughes
LB - Doyle
CM - Grimes
CM - Hackney
AM - Nunez
RW - Azeez
ST - Vipotnik
LW - EMC

Ipswich or Boro to get 1 more player if they get in the top 2 (Kipre / Targett)

Wouldn't be surprised if Rushworth got the POTS award for two reasons. First of all he is a loan player, and secondly the only reason we've done well is having the POTS in goal. Would be a great story to tell on behalf of their favourite clubs that FAILED 🤔

Rudoni and Onyeka are two players who would objectively start for any Championship team, they just haven’t played long enough, or in Rudoni’s case, well enough to be considered for TOTY.

Rudoni’s form since Birmingham away has been top quality, but to think his season has been below his own standards yet has 7 goals and 5 assists demonstrates he can make the step up imo.

I think he'd really benefit from being at a club that's not an on going soap opera.

In my opinion he'd be a much more consistent performer for us or even Boro.

I agree. Rudi had a stop/start season and Frank only been here 5 minutes but both are outstanding at this level.

Wouldn't say no to him for a reasonable price pal, no debate on that. Talented player.

That’s what I’ve tried to consider when doing my ‘best 11’ and people have got to recognise that it isn’t necessarily the best players for each position but players who’ve been consistently good year round.

Sorba Thomas has got to be a good shout for left wing, based on stats - 20 goal contributions, highest xA. Playing in a poor team.
Yeh I wouldn't swap EMC for Sorba Thomas in a million years but when you're thinking about how a TOTS is compiled I think thats probably right. I think they'll try and get Jack Clarke in there too.

Think you have to take into account the respective teams of the 3 players, Thomas has had to shoulder a lot of the attacking responsibility for Stoke.

Yet the points and goals have increased the other way re Southampton?

Took a bit of time to sort things out but their manager has done a very good job. 12 wins 3 draws from their last 15 games and now have beaten Arsenal to get to the SF of the FA cup. Can only see fatigue stopping them from getting promoted. Their manager must be in with a shout of manager of the season, especially if they also go further in the cup. It's only Manchester City next 🤣

He's literally mirroring lampards part season last from last year isn't he, I don't think it qualifies myself?🤔

You can't look past Lampard or Neil imo. Both us and Millwall have massively surpassed expectations and we've dominated the league this season bar a mid season blip.

We won't get 6, it will be 2-3 max. There has only been 4 from one team twice - Readings record breaking 106 season and the Newcastle team packed full of stars under Benitez. There has never been 5 or more from 1 team.
Was it benitez? I thought allardyce was Newcastle manage when they romped the league?
