Other than goals and moments of high skill, I only ever enjoy football in retrospect.

We have to be at least four goals up with no more than 15 minutes to play for me to genuinely relax and start enjoying a game.

In fact, whilst I look forward to and am excited by the prospect of games, I actively dislike most of the process of actually experiencing a game of football that I am emotionally engaged with.

With this season, it's the hope that kills you. After the Norwich game, I kind of reconciled myself to the idea that we were going to blow it and relaxed; now we've sodding gone and won a load of games and I'm tense again.
This is ridiculously relatable haha great description

Danny Fox was pretty good earlier this season on CWR, but my blood pressure was through the roof as it was like sitting next to another supporter, and you'd hear him say "Oh God..." when Rob was halfway through a sentence.
Without being able to see the game, I couldn't tell if we'd conceded, given away a penalty or just given the ball away
Danny Fox was fucking appalling.

I try to go on crowd noise as much as commentator to get an idea of what's going on.

As much as I liked his commentary, Clive was terrible for making a situation sound more dramatic than it really was.
Clive was the gold standard. Rob would he OK if only he'd stop spelling out the lyrics as the SBA run through their repertoire. Cringeworthy.

I just want to see us back in the top flight. I've supported CCFC since 1963. Seen them go up to the old First division under Jimmy Hill and watched most games for 34 years in the top flight until Strachan and co got us relegated! I'm now coming up to 73. Even if we only stay in the Premier League for a season, I don't care! WE GOT THERE! I can die a happy man!

I loved Clive’s commentaries, but he could make an opposition throw in by their own goal line sound like we were inevitably about to concede.

I'll be stress free for a few days then it's time to worry about a defeat to Preston and Southampton at home and what that does to us etc

Life of a fan

(Note: will not bedwet though!)

You know what? I actually enjoyed today’s game. Lots of action and entertainment and Bristol never really looked like scoring.

Win tonight and I think my nerves will ease a lot.

Ipswich drawing has eased my nerves.

I was quite relaxed during the last few after my Oxford Meltdown

However woke up this morning shitting it

Win tonight basically knocks Ipswich out of catching us. They dont make up 12 points even with a game in hand

Then only Millwall and Boro can catch

Must win tonight to allow for a slip up next 2

Just thinking about this.

we’ve got used to winning a lot of games the last 3 or 4 years. If we go up next year will be very different. If we eventually come back down it won’t have the same feel, we will be a parachute team and there is pressure and an expectation to get straight back up.

So basically we need to enjoy the rest of this season because it might not get any better than this.

Yeah, go up, which is looking likely, and everything changes.

I’m quite looking forward to a good old fashioned relegation battle. As long as it is a battle and not a Derby style capitulation. Not sure I’d enjoy that at all.

I am fine for now, Southampton are the third best side in the division since Eckert got the job - Saturday was a very tough game very much like the Ipswich game was back in late December

Avoid defeat on Saturday I am still fine, although I don't wanna be going into a 2 week break on the back of two defeats, going into an int'l break waiting 2 weeks for your next game is one of the worst feelings in football

If you’ve followed us during our 2nd championship stint you shouldn’t be stressed. Our results have tracked the same as they usually do - we just haven’t started the season 15 games in we usually pick up in late October - shit the bed in December/Janaury before picking up again…. It’s followed this route every season

Happy to have been one of the OG ‘relaxed’ responants.

My belief that we’ll go up was tested after Oxford (h) a bit but for some reason never felt that Boro would beat us at the CBS.

Won't not be stressed until it's all done and dusted.

It's not in my nature to relax.
Relax, don't do it
When you want to go to it
Relax, don't do it
When you want to cum
Relax, don't do it
When you want to suck it, chew it
