I only meant that they wouldn't do it!
Fair enough. Just bad choice of words then

And I agree celtic likely to win it, then rangers and then hearts.

But it's not over till its over and hearts have shown ability to bounce back well this season.

I tell you what this weekend has seen nearly every result possible go the way I would have hoped it too.

Brilliant day for Scottish football

10 games left. Hearts know 9 will win then the league. 8 should do it and 7 possibly. It's all getting very real!

Our expert @David O'Day assured us that hearts wouldn't keep it up..... Of course Celtic may win it still but hearts have not dropped off that's for sure.

Amazing title race!

Hearts the major beneficiaries today for sure. When the league enters the ‘split’ it’ll be very interesting to see if they have to travel to both Ibrox and Parkhead.

It's a shame it works like that. Would be nice to see it end with normal fixtures
Yeah, it's odd.

If you're going to split the division do it when everyone has played the teams home and away. Then get everyone in each half to play each other home and away again. Just seems unfair when teams will have played teams a different number of times home and away.

Imagine having to go to Deepdale twice in one season though...

Yeh but I don't like manufactured excitement.

But still it's been like that for a while now so no point moaning too much.
The only way they end the split is if the expand the Premiership enough to make it an 18/20 team League

Will never happen though as their Cash Cow Old Firm games would be cut from 4 to 2 a season (in the League)

I mean 4 fixtures H2h can still work with amount of teams they have now?

Because they're the best two sides, they generally meet in both cups too, so normally 6 times a season. It's too much and surely loses some of that edge when it's every few weeks.

As said above though, it's a real money spinner and the other 10 clubs also benefit financially from playing them 3 times a season.

No edge taken off those games. One of the only fixtures that lives up to the hype more often than not.

Be great if Motherwell push themselves into this as well

For their own fans absolutely, I get it - pure hatred. For the average punter (like me), I'll generally watch Man Utd V Liverpool even though I dislike both, whereas this one feels a bit like 'I only watched this a few weeks ago'.

I don't get that feeling personally. Always look forward to them and don't see it as overkill I have to be honest

Hearts with another win yesterday despite expert @David O'Day telling us they wouldn't keep it up. I wonder rif they lose title at death will be try to claim he was right?

Sets up a massive old firm derby. Hopefully a draw or rangers win. Motherwell could overtake them both!

If we wernt in the way to the premier league if say let's get in Braga next year from hearts btw.

Would say the same about Raskin

Raskin is literally the only Rangers player I would take. I'm talking even as we are now, nevermind as a Prem club. I think Hearts are probably more than the sum of their parts, a team effort. Wouldn't have any of them personally.
Celtic have 2 or 3 maybe still but the number is ever shrinking and they aren't performing.

Probably not in the Prem, but I could well see a top end Championship team taking him next season, he’s a class above that Rangers team.

Or maybe just to Germany or something but yes he's clear of Rangers atm. Its difficult buying from the Old Firm as they want good money for their players, which is fair enough, but its risky as you're genuinely buying players who are playing against League One/Two level opposition a lot of the time.

I think we need to focus on buying experience from the Prem, and Physicality from the likes of Germany and Holland.

Yeh we can defo look at players from relegated clubs for Prem experience. Not the best market value wise, its crazy how much some of these teams want for their relegated players.

Not neccesarily from relegated teams, the Xhaka signing for Sunderland is a good one to show as his Henderson. Overseas experienced the league but came for cheaper than buying straight out of it.

Andy Robertson contract expiring in the summer 👀

To keep it on brand with the thread. Prem experience, in a position we will need... Kieran Tierney?
