Disappointed to see this result. On the face of it Lampard has been messing with the line up too much imo. I said before we must get the same 11 that propelled us to the top in style back on the pitch once injuries & suspensions were out of the way. Surprisingly he has not done that. Asante must come in, EMC must come in. Rudoni is not a fit in the side ATM, and we played great without him during that successful spell. That's what clicked. The only improvement we needed was a flank for the hard working Grimes, and we just got him (Oneyki) but failed to even get a subs appearance a game away from Middleborough? Also thought changing the two CB's was a rash decision. Surprised by that as players will seem confused and start pondering about form. I agree Wolf was due a shot but no Thomas? He is big threat from set prices. Having messed with team selection today in such bizarre fashion looked suicidal, and almost could have been. It's also a time for a kick up the pants in a dressing room rant after match. We have not been good enough for several weeks now and it's alarming. No more excuses, remind everyone of.the prize at stake. Time for Lampard to not become the guy who starts so well but tail spins away...as at Derby & Chelsea.
We played that XI vs Norwich and we were dreadful

I have been a long suffering fan for many years and some of our more horrendous home performances have ended up 0-0 against complete no hopers. I remember in 1978 when we came up against an absolutely useless and desperate Newcastle side who were beaten almost every week. It ended a depressing 0-0.
We managed a 0-0 against the worst performing Championship club in living memory Stockport County in 2002.
Probably the next worst Championship side ever, Rotherham we played at home in 2004 and could not put 1 past them either
More recently we ended up 0-0 at home against an abject Wycombe Wanderers side completely out of their depth.
Sadly we have a history of goalless draws against what should be regarded as home bankers against really poor teams.
Yes that Newcastle game was rank.

We still had a very good season although ultimately failed on qualifying for Europe.

We couldn’t break down Oxford at home and what made it even worse they had 10 men for the last 20 minutes….its all good though we made a few tackles
Totally agree. Another thing which is totally unacceptable is the number of times we play opposition at home who have had a mid week game and much shorter rest periods than us and we have an atrocious lame result whilst they appear to fight tooth and nail. A criticism of Mark Robins and now Lampard is the number of times we got the poor little lambs are tired routine after an unacceptable result. Well that does not wash either.

Look at the stats you prat. On another day wright gets a hat trick. 75-% possession, 24 shots, 10 corners, keeper makes 3 crazy saves that normally go in. It was the most one sided game I’ve seen in years. Everyone is gutted we didn’t win but you can’t make out we didn’t play well or were not the better team.

Sorry
But people have been saying this for months
On another day wright gets 2 or 3
Well he’s not and it does need to be called out
I can’t see him going anywhere near the World Cup on the last 3 months
I still believe we will do autos as everyone else is slipping up as well
Me and our three will be there every match to the end of the season come hell or high water
And if we do fail we will be there for the playoffs as well
Hold your nerve SBA
Soon we will be out of this winter SAD season and the sky will

Stats don’t mean points, it was slow boring against a team that didn’t even bother to try and win. If you are happy with that and what’s been happening then fair enough, but it won’t result in us going up. Looking at the stats and thinking it was good is ridiculous

Said on the match thread if you can’t win that game then you’ve no business being in the Top 2 and I stand by that - Middlesbrough and Ipswich win that game 2 or 3 zip, red card or no red card

We are a club and squad that are a good chasing side, as has been proven the last few seasons but as pace setters we have proven we’ve not got the mettle

Wright had scored 2 goals in 18 starts!

I don’t really get what you’re implying? Are we all meant to be chuffed to bits we have pissed it away or something?
There is no point arguing with these people. In their heads we are still a plucky L1 club who should simply be happy to be in this league. If you can’t get your head round how bad it would be to not get promoted this season at this point there is no getting through to you.

I stuck with it all the way through L1 and L2 and if we failed to go up this season it would be the bitterest pill of the lot to swallow - I’d be absolutely distraught, golden chance of winning a League and getting into the Premier League pissed away

Next season would have a very flat feel going in to it

Lampard’s tinkering shows he doesn’t know what the issue is. He thinks changing the back line or swapping Simms and Wright might work but he’s not changing the way we play.

He looks lost right now.

I’ve seen a lot over the years, but in truth the current patch of results really irritates me like nothing else.

Even when we were trash there were players on the pitch who looked like they cared, who had passion and were trying to make things happen. I am struggling to see that passion and emotion from this group, I don’t doubt for a second that they are trying, or at least some players are.

Something needs to change and quickly, Frank needs to find a Plan B, but I’m not sure he’s got it in him, he looks very devoid of ideas or answers (or his appearance on the sideline gives off this view). BTA coming back from a ban after Boro will hopefully help.

A third of the season to go. If the players want it then it’s time to step up and show it.

You are completely missing the point. Of course we’re not meant to be happy about our dip in form. But equally we shouldn’t be wailing and moaning about it to the extent we are.

i think it’s the extent of the drop off. all we needed was 1.5ppg average to keep ticking over and still be fairly comfy.

The results , let alone the performances have been well well below that

Yeah but something, something, Sixfields, Slade, etc

There isn't a single fan on here who doesnt know how far we've come but using it as some kind of mitigation for this season going south is doing my head in.

Did Brentford or Bournemouth settle for staying in the Champ cos 10 years previously they almost went pop?

Did they fuck they kept looking forward - teams do a Lazarus all the time now and we need to complete the job

Frankly ridiculous comparison. Why? Cash. We are loss making. We’ve just bought the stadium. There’s no way King can give the amount of cash to Lampard that the owners of the two teams you mention can.
