Woke after making the mistake of reading the gripey arse moaning on this forum late last night, and rechecked our current postion. We're fucking 1st in the league. Have everything in our hands and a club owner backing a solid and exciting manager.

Frustrations at individual results is fair, concern we've had a poor few months is fair.

But enjoy where we are, because it's never been better.

Decent stadium - Check
Great support - Check
Supportive club owner - Check
League beating team - Check
Class Manager - Check

Bring it on, happy 25/26 season everyone!

Everyone's allowed an opinion and although I disagree with them I'm OK with it, but for one reason. The vast majority having a go about the situation are those who said before the season started we had a poor squad and would struggle to reach the playoffs.

The main problem for us on here is perception of the reality,we may achieve PO's we may achieve better we really need to get off this negativity that our manager is without his clothes,we don't here much of the back up that supports his work,we need to get back on that horse!

That's my point really. Positivity is how we make a difference in that stadium. Lets bring the right energy and enjoy this ride!

I feel the issue for most is that if we were in 6th position most would be happy.

But because we have been stomping all over most teams for the 1st half of the season, there’s now an expectation (rather than an entitlement) that this form continues.

Most of us realised that the form could not continue for the whole season.

The championship is a difficult hard league, a lot of good players and a lot of good teams.

We’ve caught the perfect storm in the one season where the parachute payment teams have slipped up big time (and yes I’m including Ipswich in this).

Some fans react by being ultra critical and so we should just Let Them. Can’t change anything.

But most fans on here are aware of what the team is doing, what the owner has done and what we can control.

Namely supporting our team to our last breath and pushing our team onwards to glory.

The team really does need our support!

I fully get this. But from saying we're overachieving to then saying we're underachieving just because of our away results?

Start of the season people would’ve taken 6th all day long.
10 points clear in December people ain’t gonna be happy with 6th.

The Mowbray and Nilsson end of season collapses will be nothing compared to blowing it this season.

Saturday is huge for me. If we don’t beat Oxford at home, everyone will be wondering where the next win is coming from.

I think it’s partly because the stakes are so high - touching distance of the greatest achievement in several generations but on a knife edge - fail and feels we become another Bristol/Swansea/Preston and join the ranks of eternal Championship teams that miss their opportunities, manager change again and another team rebuild- albeit with more funds potentially than we ever have had.

Record season ticket sales is an expective outcome of achievement this season.
We had the record season ticket sales with a squad nobody thought was good enough for the auto's.

Win the next 2 home games and we open up a gap again. Our new signings will also make a big difference.

We have no right to keep steamrolling our opponents. Everyone will agree it's a very hard division. We need to keep calm and continue to do our part.

I think its the pressure of knowing that if we don't get this over the line, it could be a generation before we get there again. It's already been too long and I'm pretty sure that if we don't go up, Lampard will leave and so will many of the better players.

The thing you need to bear in mind with every fan forum or forum which has a specific interest, is that pretty much everyone on that forum has a real interest in the topic at hand. The people that go on this forum love Coventry City FC (and probably too much). If you take this love for a topic which you probably spend a lot of time thinking about, then you're going to have lots of different opinions on it, some right, some wrong.

Darts is one of my favourite sports and I've spent decades going on darts fora. The people that go on darts fora have some of the weirdest opinions on darts, that people that just enjoy darts as a hobby or like a game of it just don't have. This is what you're seeing on SBT.

It’s not in the slightest bit entitled to expect the best out of your players and demand they leave everything out there - you can’t tell me they’ve been doing that recently, unless they’ve mightily over-performed in 2025.

The same was said when we played Luton in the final.

If for some reason we do fail this season I can't see Lampard leaving. This season wouldn't look good on his CV so the top clubs wouldn't come sniffing. He is at a club challenging at the top of the Championship with good players and a chairman who backs him. And we all know he is enjoying himself with us. The problem is many of our supporters didn't listen to him when he kept saying it isn't over and there's a long way to go.

When we beat QPR 7-1 we had an xG of just 1.11 and we had several games where most shots on target went in. We just lost to them last game 2-1 with them having just 37% possession. They played on the counterattack at home.

I would prefer to see us play on the counter attack away from home. We have the players for it to work.

I think people expected our performances to drop off a bit, not the amount they have for the time they have with little sight of arresting the slide.

It's only the away games that have dropped off a cliff. Our next away game is WBA. If we don't win that then something is wrong.

Kind of agree. I said at the start we needed to finish top 4 to have a proper go at it, now I’m hoping top 2. wev‘e got 2 chances, autos or play offs, I’d of taken that start of the season,

Not from all but there is a significant amount of contradiction across a number of threads.

Either this squad isn’t quite good enough for promotion or Lampard has had us punching well above our weight and we are now drifting to “where we should be” - disappointing/worrying, yes but not sure you can be on both sides of this, a lot of people are.

I predicted before the season started 2nd to 4th. We're looking at 1st to 4th. Although we should be in a better position after the 1st half of the season there were reasons for the first lot of results. The last 2 defeats were with a decent side.

It's a long, hard season. Those chasing us will have dips in form. They could catch us but we could also pull away. The Middlesbrough game is massive.

I've enjoyed nearly every minute so far. I'm really looking forward to watching Onyeka play for us. He is going to make a big difference to us in midfield. A Prem level player playing in the Championship. Hope he plays on Saturday as Oxford will be a great side to start against.

Get him warmed up for boro, we’ll need him, big test against their midfield, more looking forward to see if he makes a difference against West Brom, and helps sort that away form out, don’t think there’s ever been so much pressure on a new signing, looks like he’ll handle it

So far we’ve lost 6 games in 30, so extrapolating that over the last 16, we could expect to lose 3 more. That would be more than enough points for autos surely?
Dodgy extrapolation my friend as we are 16th in the form table, last 6 games.

But hopefully the tank and a tweak of tactics will change that.
