A heart-warming tale of woe. Hopefully the points soon come off!

They need to plummet into the relegation zone really.

The rumoured 8-9 point deduction puts them in the lofty position in third from bottom just above Shefield Wednesday 😂
i almost wish Oxford to get something Saturday but we need the win as much as they do.
how great would it be if we went up the same season they go down. Get the bed sheets out

Blues (A)
Saints (H)
Stoke (A)
Boro (A)
Norwich (H)
Ipswich (A)

Are their forthcoming fixtures, if they can't get a couple of wins from those home matches they are in serious serious trouble, points deduction or no points deduction

Hopefully a new manager bounce kicks in and they help us out at Portman Road and the Riverside.

Followed by a 20 point deduction.

Its annoying/unfair that they seem to wait to see how teams are doing before announcing the point deductions. It really needs to be done at the very start of the season (or by the end of the August transfer window.

TSx
It seems very fair in the case of Leicester. They took the piss out of the football authorities so deserve everything they get. There's several poor teams at the bottom. If the points deduction relegates them then hit them with it. If not then save it for next season.

They are incredibly lucky only to get 6 imo

They will probably have just about enough to stay up and will wipe the slate clean in the summer

If they weren't playing Boro and Ipswich I would love to see them lose every match and rot forever

Says "breach of EFL profit and sustainability rules"

For what there did, who they had playing for them and how much they were paying them, it doesn't send out much of a message to the likes of Birmingham, Wrexham and Ipswich......

So they've got off lightly again.

Ipswich have the Prem money. Birmingham and Wrexham have only just come into the Championship rules and are well in the clear at the moment.

Leicester deducted six points
Leicester City have been docked six points after being found to have breached the EFL’s profit and sustainability rules for the 2023/24 season.

The points deduction leaves Leicester outside of the Championship relegation zone only on goal difference.

An EFL statement read: "Today, the independent disciplinary commission, appointed under Premier League Rules, has issued its decision confirming Leicester City FC breached (i) the P&S Rules in the three-year reporting period ending with Season 2023/24, and (ii) its obligations to disclose documents.

"It has recommended a deduction of six points.

"The EFL board has this afternoon met to consider the decision and in accordance with Regulation 87.7 has determined that the sanction should be applied to the Championship table with immediate effect."

Following promotion to the Premier League in 2024, the EFL’s investigation into Leicester's alleged breaches of the profit and sustainability rules transferred to the Premier League.

Leicester were referred to an independent commission in May 2025 and it determined that the club had breached the relevant P&S threshold by £20.8m over the three-year assessment period from 2022 to 2024.

The commission found that the club’s refusal to provide its annual accounts to the Premier League by the relevant deadline was a breach of Premier League Rules.

It also dismissed a claim by the club that it had demonstrated exceptional cooperation throughout the proceedings. Following agreement by the parties, and consistent with the relevant guidelines, the commission agreed that the club’s improving financial position over the relevant assessment period was a mitigating factor.

So, the investigation transfered from efl to Premier League, probably no further action then.

"At the moment" yes.... But they can now spend even more chasing the dream over the next few years knowing full well they may only get a 6 point deduction - which over the course of a championship season - if you have the type of team Leicester came down with a couple of years ago - is nothing....

Shame as i kinda want West Brom to get relegated now its a possibility but i'll probably have to pick just one. The mutants deserve it more but WBA would still be an amusing consolation prize,

Yes its pathetic and encourages the Birminghams of this world to just do it anyway.

It will be Blackburn I think, along with the current Bottom 2

I can't forsee a world where the unwashed get relegated, they will have enough and spawn enough points to pull themselves out of the mire and Albion will sack this bloke eventually and get a proper Championship manager in like they should have to start with
