long way home

I would think we need to move someone or multiple players on before anything more can be done. No point talking over what has probably been agreed. Just need am exit or two

What does talks slowed even mean?

Hopefully Doug actually has a plan B here and we aren’t held hostage by the clock like the last few windows.
We have always been so reluctant to move on from our first choice to someone else. I get that we identify a player that ticks the boxes but surely it should be a case of having multiple "plan A's" and talking to them all rather than waiting till our preferred deal is dead before scrambling for plan b.

We don't know that though do we.

We would always have multiple irons in the fire I'm sure, it would be negligent not to.

Cant remember who it was I was reading but one of the scouts/transfer heads saying you have to have two three even four main targets for a position because it allows you not to get held to ransom. If a club or player starts asking for silly money you just move on. Obviously we don’t know what’s behind the scenes but it does seem like this is something we don’t do. Unless it’s a winger in which case we sign plan A B and C just to be safe obviously.

You're right, the evidence is circumstantial I accept, but there again in 35+ years of supporting the team I've never really seen any evidence to the contrary either. It never seems to matter if we are doing well or badly, skint or rich, good owner, bad owner. Transfers are always drawn out and protracted.

People say things like this as though he would be living in Stoke Aldermoor.

The gentle Warwickshire countryside is amongst the most beautiful in the world. That’s where he would be living.
His opinion on the aesthetics of the Lower precinct wouldn’t come into it
Or, he stays in London where he currently lives. Especially if hes got a family (i dont know if he has but somebody can confirm either way im sure) and kids settled at school etc. Do you think the Lampards have moved or do you think Frank commutes? Id say the latter. Its not beyond the realms of thinking that he could commute from London. Could car share with Frank if they live close enough to one another. I remember for a couple of years both Carl Baker and Michael Doyle both still lived in Meriden and car shared daily to Portsmouth. So its possible he wouldn't/doesnt even have to move from London. He certainly couldnt commute to Valencia from London as easily.

Astute the weirdo, nobody is desperate for
It to fail, it’s an absolute farce how we’re nearly at the end of the window and we haven’t got a cm in
If that little brain of yours wasn't full of racist shite you would have a little room to understand how football works.

I was looking at his Instagram page. Flight time London to Valencia just over 2 hours.

Just over 2 hours, with an hour pre-flight check in and passport control at the other end. Makes it more like 4 hours you'd think. Plus wouldnt be cheap to fly to Valencia 6 times a week.

On a PL players wage he'd probably get them to pay for it lol. I'd doubt if he would commute to there daily rather than stay over.

We are still most likely to get this one, stop being such a fucking drama queen.
Do you not think it’s getting a bit late though? It’s hardly being a drama queen it’s common sense. Other clubs haven’t struggled, it’s not being a drama queen getting annoyed at the fact it’s virtually the end of the window and we’re seemingly slowing talks down

Other clubs haven’t struggled...

Neither have we, three players in already, one for a decent chunk. One is taking longer than we'd like. Sh*t happens. Bloke and his agent are probably dragging it out because he's had a decent AFCON and they're hoping to leverage that as much as possible.

This is going to fall through and it'll be we didn't have enough time to replace Andrews. Talks have slowed meaning Doug is playing hardball and Birmingham City or Sheffield United will just go bam there you go £8m whatever it is £35,000-£40,000 a week wages. The signing of Onyeka will be the difference IMO or someone of a similar level. If we don't get cover centrally and ideally defensively we're fucked. I don't get the fucking obsession buying and loaning just attacking players when the problem is clearly a defensive issue.
