Coventry manager Frank Lampard told BBC Radio CWR:

"We gifted them their goals. If you do that in the Championship you lose games. If you defend sloppily and make mistakes, teams score against you.

"We created enough chances to score more goals but didn't. Defensive errors are a problem, something we've been good at this season.

"It was a great finish, good goal, and we went in at half time 1-0, so that's positive, but we came out [in the second half] and gave them some momentum.

"Some games aren't easy to control in the Championship. We had more possession than them, and created enough chances, but games are always won in both boxes.

"It's not easy to come here on a Monday night against a team in good form and try to control every aspect of the game."
Worrying lack of belief in those comments from Lampard.

Yep, win at QPR we've taken 9 from 4 which is still a good outcome. We had a better xG and could easily have been 2:1 up when we gave away a goal. Could easily have taken a point. QPR won't be happy after the last result but why shouldn't it all come together again at our new favourite oppo?
And we’ll beat sheff utd away, it’s the cov thing to do

“So I thought let’s not even bother trying and instead play 316 for the lols”

He was also held down for the header
On replay, got a whack in the face just as he was about to head it as well unfortunately.
Thought he could have left Wright on as we were behind, he'd had a good game. I've already seen people blaming Wright and Simms on Twitter, that's no surprise though, they are default mode for blame.
Our problems were far from the front line this evening.
We are desperate for a tough player in the middle. At the moment we are seriously lacking someone who is going to take a game by the scruff of the neck.

Course they can if you’ve got the right ones, instead we’ve got cart horses who can’t run or pass a ball, if they did the basics tonight we win that, it’s that simple, just silly mistakes again,
That’s probably more the case tonight than recent games. But generally they are the sacrificial lambs in a kamikaze system

Not read through all of this but their first goal…has BTA’s contribution to that been highlighted? Sliding in on their defender when he just needed to jockey him.

They are the least of issues from tonight.

When you’re still 8 points clear of third defending how we do then you know it’s going to be you’re season, just keep doing what we do at home and it’s not like we won’t pick up the odd win away. We’re still going up

The first 4 are more important. Win 3 of those including Boro and we’re laughing- and QPR/Oxford/WBA are very beatable.
At the moment you would think Oxford are the only one we are likely to win, QPR and WBA are away matches and we're not getting any points away at the moment and Boro would hammer us if the game is played on recent form.

Wouldn't be a surprise to have 4 or less from the first 4 of those matches.

Get what you mean, it was actually a bit embarrassing tonight being top of the league and that’s how we defend, but we’ve been like it for 2 seasons, I put us on my Acca every week, £ 30 both teams to score, I’m doing ok unsurprisingly

I think we’ll get at least 8 points

We will definitely be top when we play Oxford I guess so lets hope that ushers in a new dawn
Their recent results suggest they're extremely difficult to beat at the moment. Probably won't win enough to stay up, but playing them will probably be an extremely frustrating game to watch.

Most definitely. We are capable of playing some really good football, the trouble has been for a while that if even one player is not fully fit or off their game, we get pulled apart. Particularly in the middle, and other teams have picked up on it.

If you don't think that you as a team are capable of taking control of a game against a team just outside the relegation zone that's a concern. Yes it isn't easy but he should expect better and he doesn't seem to.
Norwich are one of the form sides in the league under their new manager.

And away games are always tough, have people forgotten getting beat by Plymouth and Luton tail end of last season?
