Why? He was awful for 3 months and didn't score a goal.
Pointing out that someone hasn't scored for whatever reason in not that same as calling them all names under the sun. Let's not forget that he was injured for some of that period that you're conflating and his wife also had a baby. Maybe King doesn't want to pay him the going rate! As fans we never know everything that's going on behind the scenes!

I've consistently criticised the vitriol, but he deserves criticism for his performances.

As for not knowing what's going on behind the scenes, you're right, but that applies to every player, manager, coach etc.

But we can only comment on what we see.

Simms and Asante got lots of criticism last season, turns out they were both carrying injuries.

Yeh I’ve been critical of Hadji’s performance but I think for me, it’s time to get behind him. His muted celebration after his goal against Leicester, and his interview after that game showed, I think, that he’s been suffering, from his poor form and lack of goals, and from criticism that he’s seen and heard. Time to move on.

There are some serious wet lettuces on here. What criticism has he had in the stadium? None. He’s had nothing but support. You’ve someone managed to all get it in your head this forum is so important that he must of read the criticism and it’s affected his performances.

No, he has been shit for months which is on him so people spoke about as they can so just get a grip it’s embarrassing.

I take it you don’t to games then because he gets endless abuse in the stadium. If you think k he only hears full scales chants I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Great shout. Just checked 2013/14 season and there were in fact 4 in double figures as Carl Baker got 10 but only if you include cup games. Weird season - scored 74 goals and finished 18th. Only 3 teams scored more and yet only 5 points off being relegated. Probably something to do with conceding 77!
The 10 point deduction didn't help either, we should have been 9th.

I don’t think fans minded that he wasn’t scoring or even looking like scoring. It was the lack of fight and aggression.

I know players are humans, and will have days where it just doesn’t click for them and it all feels much harder than normal, but the performances were consistently well short of his level.

Last two games have been spot on. Score, miss, whatever - just give it 100%.

Without question his best ever game for us.
I can see why that can annoy people though. An incredible player when he’s up for it

Where do we think he finishes?

Going to break 50 this season surely? 56 probably too far this season but could well end next season our third top all time scorer.

He'll stay if we go up, is he a starter and for how many seasons though? Gun to head, higher than Wallace, lower than Dublin.

Im sure he won’t but I still think in the PL he’d be an excellent left forward. Not sure he starts as a lone striker but maybe. Just feel we’ll make a big signing there.

He won't be a left forward, he'll be our second choice CF imo. But I still think with the end of this season and a good amount of minutes in the Prem he'll do what I said. Its not that far off.

A table like that means next to *uck all. Some of those near the top were playing in a regularly struggling 1st division team.
If anyone is telling me Wright is anywhere near as good as Dublin, then they don’t watch football.
And please don’t say they were different types of strikers.

I think he’s Level on goals scored in the championship for Coventry with Mcsheffery less games too

He's the best striker we've had since coming down - loved some of our others, who I actually got to see play at Wembley twice - but Wright's goals will take us up, and he will have his chance in the PL.

He’s scored 48 goals in 116 games. Thats outstanding at any level. Get a grip.
