Delighted to see Leicester pick a point up last minute it might keep their gaffer in a job for a few more weeks
I hope he's kept in the job for another 6 games personally, before getting the bullet after a defeat against us, then them having a nice new manager bounce for Ipswich 2 games later.

Homes against Oxford & Charlton next up should help.

Boro seem to have a bit of luck on their side at the moment in terms of meeting/beating an injury ravaged Stoke team, a Southampton team that just went off the boil after a decent start under their new manager. Now they are about to face a Preston team that's in really poor form. I'm waiting for them to slip up as Ipswich seem hell-bent on running the table. We just have to keep grinding out results to stay 1 step ahead and can't count on any favours from anyone.

We're guaranteed to be in top spot going into February and in the top two to the 7th.

Every win we get and points dropped by the other two pushes that date closer to the end of the season.

We're in a fantastic spot.
what are people going to moan about when we get promoted. where will they channel their dismay with life

From our perspective, the first half today was the worst 45 minutes I can remember us playing under Hellberg.

It was a Typical Boro event all over, Robins always seems to set hs stall out well against us.

The second half we played more of our usual game, Kim's subs were the right ones, Browne had an awesome game from start to finish. Castledine looked tasty and in a landmark moment Conway scored. Ironically enough we actually played better overall in some of our Christmas fixtures when we got almost sod all (as usual for that time of year)

Tbf we're that far indebted with bad fortune from the main part of the season that we'll take payback in droves from Lady Luck here and there, Stoke missing a sitter late on being such an instance.

Don't know why so so many on here are $hitting their collective pants though, we'd need 10 points more than you in 17 games to finish higher, when you factor in the extra point needed for GD and the given of you getting the 3 points against us at the end of Feb as the Hoodoo does what comes naturally.

Not that that is our main focus; we just need to accumulate more points than Ipswich, and our remaining overall fixtures are better than theirs, though get the idea it may be tight!

£8m is steep! I would have thought no more than £2.5m-3m

The one thing not considered by those that are all doom and gloom is the amount of games left. Realistically we can now forget every team below Millwall in 5th. There's only 18 games to go now and Preston in 6th are 15 points below us. Even Millwall are 12 points and 33 goals behind us. If the gap with them stays the same after 2 more games they will also be out of the chase for catching us.

We have now got just about all of our players back with a couple of additions which have strengthened us so we're even stronger than at the start of the season. We've played most of our more difficult games. Yes we still have Middlesbrough at home but we've already shown their defence can't cope with our style of play. They have a lack of goalscorers in their side. We have them all over the pitch.

We've got a nice run of games coming up. All we have to do is get about the same points as the teams below us. Every game in the Championship is difficult I hear. I agree. But they're also difficult for the sides that have got to catch us up. Just win 1 lose 1 for the rest of the season puts us on 85 points. Can anyone honestly see us losing 9 of the last 18 games? There's only 11 games we haven't won all season and 7 of them were a draw.

Of course it isn't over yet but we're in a great position.

We're in a great position, and deserve it, and I'm fairly confident we see it through.

Do find the almost angry reactions to suggestions we could get caught a bit weird. Of course we could be caught, it wouldn't take that much of a swing. It's still a fair way to 90 points from here. Long, long way to go yet, so people will speculate, especially with two tricky away games coming up on the back of 6 games on the road without a win.
Of course we can get caught. It's always a worry at back of mind.

It's more a case of getting angry at the owner manager and players when we drop any kind of points that I find weird

We had people calling these players bottlers just last week mate.

Some people cannot handle their emotions.

There is no hoodoo. We've just got the better of you in the last few games because, for the most part, we've played better than you in them.

Prior to the play offs, our modern record against you was nothing to write home about, and you did the double over us the season before.

If both teams are in form, it will be a good quality, evenly matched game with whoever is more clinical coming out on top. No guarantee of a result, in other words.

Middlesbrough need to better our results every week to catch us.
We need to just match their results.

Each game that Middlesborough doesn't better ours, makes it even more difficult for them.
The same goes for Ipswich.

Middlesborough and Ipswich will drop points this weekend and we WON'T lose!

There are going to be twist and turns along the way, its never going to be easy and we're not used to being chased. We are always chasing the pack.

Enjoy the ride, if we don't get top 2 (I think we will) then Play-Offs it is.......

Interestingly we play last this weekend so it’s either an opportunity to widen the gap or both Boro and Ipswich win and pressures on.

Problem is for us City fans of long standing is the sheer disbelief that something so fantastic could happen to us. My logic says yes but honestly we could be 11 ahead with 4 to play and I would conjure up a way of us missing out 😂
Yes, the sheer joy of being I think 15 points clear of 3rd a couple of months ago, to an acutal possiblity of blowing the autos is hopefully just my natural pessimism kicking in. Frank and the team are professionals and hopefully a lot stronger mentally than me! I also value the opinions of people on here, who understand the game a bit more than me. If the consensus is we're going to do it, I'll believe in that :)

Look. I like to think of myself as someone who supports other teams and wishes them well…

Boro and Ipswich can fuck off until the end of the season. All these fans in peace 🤮
Ipswich especially after the social media shit they dished out after their home win against us.

In response to other club's trope of 'it's a poor quality league', here's last season's table at the same point. 5 points separate the top 4, with Leeds top on 59.

If Ipswich and Hull win their games in hand, it'll be 8 points separating the current top 4, with us top on 58.

I think most people would rather Boro went up than Dickswich but i honestly don't care enough to actively want them to be winning anything. I want them both to drastically fall off so i can chill the fuck out.
Yeah, Ipswich have been swanning around like they are part of the "big 6" when in reality just a couple of years ago they were losing to us in League 1.
