We can argue about the ability of our defence but in reality we play 3 at the back and one of those is Grimes. We simply don’t play with full backs. MVE and Dasilva are wide midfielders pushed right up to our wingers. You look at last night and most other home games and we could easily be 3 down at HT. But hey, that’s how we’re doing it. Enjoy the chaos.

Watching some of the highlights I cannot believe that Frank favours Lati over Woolfy. It looks like he’s running on the spot as everyone passes him when he’s trying to get back. We’re going to pay a high price if we persist with it.
If all fit we need to get back to what was working best in October/ November and that I’m afraid means limiting Rudoni too.
I reckon it’s more stressful for the fans being out front in the table. Just read the match thread here to feel the angst.

Think he’s the best defender we have

That’s the best bench we’ve had in years, it’s won us the last 2 games, and that’s without the lad from spurs playing a minute, brilliant signings
I can't see how he gets on when we're holding on to a 1 goal lead, too risky. Pity we got knocked out of the cup at the first hurdle.

You have to worry that MVE, JDS going walkabouts while we lack the pace to cover them may be very costly in the end.
It just happens too much, it needs more control. Although we have to be honest that MVE and JDS aren't great defenders anyhow.

A shame the defenders bought in Woolf, Brau, KKH don't seem to have been a success and don't offer a better more defensive setup option.
We need one other quality defensive minded player to come in with pace to lower the risk.

We could also alter our tactics. It looks so gung ho and I’m not convinced it’s necessary for 90 minutes.

Can’t be a real Millwall fan - too much hair.

Also enjoyed the fact he kept on referring to Ivanovic as “the Serb”.
They had a keeper called Bartosz Bialkowski. Rather than try and pronounce his surname the home commentators always just called him Bart.

Did you miss the first goal
He lost the ball 2nd phase from a corner as the last man giving them an early 2v1. We could well have been 3 down and all his mistakes. I could go on. Unlike Milan, he doesn't get the assists to make up for it. If Bidwell can't play for whatever reason then we need a left back before it does cost us again and cut our losses on Brau at the same time.

Bit early to be getting on the sauce Pete

Yeah Pete real defending is having a buzz cut and steaming into tackles leaving the rest of the defence exposed jeez!

I thought that was another weak game from JDS. A missed header that we were lucky to escape, got megged on halfway for the goal, at one point he even got called out by the Sky commentator for not doing enough to cut off the cross (as usual). We really need a top quality starting left back! Our left side needs to be more productive in the assists column too.
Whilst I agree on the JDS front, saying the left side needs to contribute more on the assists front when EMC pretty much has 2 assists in 2 (granted lastnights wont go down as an assist but that cross was inch perfect).

On the JDS front, last night was one of his worst games. Back to last season levels. That header was as bad as the Brau one against Charlton. Luckily for him though we didnt concede unlike Brau against Charlton so its not as noticed.

It’s so hard to pick faults when it’s been an amazing season and we’ve played some of the best, most exciting football I’ve ever seen up the city. Just not good for the ticker !!!

As you say, there’s no doubt when we’re winning we could cut some stuff out that invites pressure and gives opposition as sniff (no worries if losing) - We got caught 2 on 1 or 2 on 2 from a set piece when 1-0 up, MvE taking long throws on left when we’re playing a team of monsters and Thomas is out 🤷‍♂️. changing some small things wouldn’t necessarily alter our aggressive approach but maybe help make us a bit more solid

Saying that, we’re certainly getting our monies worth this season !

Watch back the 1 on 1 save Rushworth made. Lati literally playing him onside, stops running to try amd catch him offside, completely mistimes it/fucks it up and automatically gives him a 5 yard head start! Such poor defending.

He was winning lots of challenges especially the high balls coming in the centre.

Because Thomas is vital for our long throws. He’s the best of a bad bunch tbh. My real issue is with Kitching who is just a very poor defender.
So if he’s the best of a bad bunch, Lati isn’t the best defender. That’s all I was saying.

I'd be happy to give him the assist too, that was a top save from Haji.

It's still 2 assists all season (and one from JDS, was it zero last year or one maybe) but that's what EMC needs to do to improve his game, Giles for example has 8, I think. Granted though he does score and his strength in the box is an asset too.

Our current team has a real winning mentality doesn't it? A lot of the credit for that must be down to FL and probably Grimes.

We have won both of the last two games when, at certain points in each one, we looked far more likely to lose. I think it is this sort of attitude, as much as anything else, that hopefully will see us over the line come the end of the season.

As an aside, it's great to see Haji playing well and putting the effort in. When he's like this he's one of the best strikers in this league.

Bang on. We are very easy to break against and when in the lead, that shouldn't be as easy as it is.

I guess we just have to trust what's worked so far and hope we can keep outscoring everyone. Additional legs in midfield (Onyeka type) will allow us to continue the way we are going.

I like to have a look at opposition viewpoints for games and every time we win there's someone talking about how we celebrate as if it's a cup final blah blah. Fuck me, if you can't enjoy a win what's the point in going?
We might celebrate like that, but every team we come up against plays like it’s their cup final. Maybe they could do that against Ipswich and Boro for a change.

It's obvious why we celebrate so well though isn't it?

We've had a lot more practice this season than the other teams.
