Presume this one is all tied into midterms though. He’s desperate to get interests rates and therefore borrowing costs down (for public and government). Markets won’t respond well to a perceived lack of independence though. Been saying for a while whilst rates remain high the west (and China*, Japan etc) have got a major debt/borrowing problem.

The biggest immediate problem though is the Supreme Court ruling on tariffs, which could be today.
