Today albeit a poor result, felt like the performance was much better overall. Controlled large parts and moved the ball well. Felt like we'd shaken off our leggy illness bug play. Conceding 3 goals in the manner we did was poor and ultimately you can't outscore poor defending. I always hate looking to the ref in games as it feels a copout however this is perhaps the 4th/5th time in the last 6/7 games that we've been denied clear cut penalties. The Mason-Clark rugby tackle today was as clear as they come. Still a welcomed break now ahead of the next league game and hopefully time to embed new signings and come fresh.

It was obvious in the summer we'd fucked it up but because we had a storming start with a fresh squad people wouldn't have it.
I can't be bothered to go back and point score but if I did I'dhave the best reaction score on here.

Countless people telling me we had done enough. It was paper thin.

I said we need 4 or 5 players in this window and people were decrying saying we only need 1 or 2. Birmingham rotated nearly a whole team and they have 11 players out. FL can bring in Wright and Andrews, say no more. This result was made because we do not have a squad, we have a team, a good team but not a squad.

That’s criminal from Thomas. Hopefully Woolfy can step in and do well in his absence but when we’ve got players out with injury and the flu and we’re playing sub par why the fuck would you do something as stupid as that. We just got back to our strongest back line and he’s thrown it out immediately after 1 game.

That EMC stonewaller.
Why weren't Wright, JDS screaming in the refs face?
Far too fkn soft.

Som terrible mistakes and far from our best but 9/10 they don’t win that. 3 difficult chances on target and all fly in.

Two clear penalties, a perfectly good goal disallowed and Thomas sent off for nothing really. One of the most frustrating games I’ve ever seen.

My nerves are shredded thinking about our form and the points gap closing.

So frustrating.

He’s been class but the 3rd going in killed us - Rushworth HAS to save that - really poor.

Thomas pathetic head loss.

Played ok. Simms decent I thought, and Andrews needs to play more - ticks it along nicely.

Obvious lack of bench is the problem - Frank needs help.

The alarm bells have been ringing for weeks really, despite the 'we are still top of the league' rhetoric going around.

Far too early to throw the baby out with the bathwater, but something needs to change and fast. The defence were terrible today. Every single one of them. The full backs offered nothing going forward, and defensively made it far too easy for Birmingham one each of their goals. Thomas red card just shows the lack of intelligence mentally that we are demonstrating against other teams. Going forward we look laboured to put it kindly. A few aimless crosses and punts from outside the box mask it a bit, really.

We need some reinforcements as soon as possible, and there are some players that need to be benched for the own good at that point.

Lampard needs to call the refs out live on ITV as well.
He needs to call them out at every opportunity now, list their names, the times that penalties should have been given and how many points it has cost us.

Don't talk about anything else in any interview until things change.

I am fuming but at least it's early and close enough that I'll make it home in time to make some use of some of my last Sunday before going back to work.

A top to bottom shit performance from a side that's clearly to a man utterly fucked, absolutely awful atmosphere in the away end too.

I hope Thomas is banned for 11 games, the fucking bellend

I just dont see it being enough. We were probably 2 or 3 short in the summer, so what realistically should.be 2 or 3 now, is maybe 5 or 6 needed. I dont see how we're bring in 5 or 6 players good enough to turn this round?
Were a LB, CM, LW, RW, ST short minimum. Possibly even a 10. 6 short. Not a chance are we bringing in that many in this window. 2 to 3 at most.

Take the top scorer out of any side and you’re going to struggle, it was always get to January, see where we are and what we need, just stupid goals to give away as usual

That's fucked me right off.

Desperately need some reinforcements now, Mason-Clark was basically a one man attack there and the only one who looked a threat throughout (even if it didn't always come off).

Created more than enough to win that.
Stonewall penalty ignored.
Shaky at the back cost us.
We didn't create that much really. None of our chances were of the quality of Birmingham's chances. Not once did we get the ball behind their back 4. We had twice the amount of changes yet our xG was only marginally bigger. 1.18 Vs 1.45

EMC was definitely a pen, but the the pull is on the shirt behind EMC blocking that from the ref. Poor decision from the ref.

Intrigued to see what Lampard says about Thomas. I can forgive it and you can’t say the players don’t care, regardless of the performance. Annoyed about it though. He’s left us in the shit somewhat for 3 games.

For me, outside of the calamity defending the lack of quality on nearly all of the crosses and set pieces today was so poor.

Yet we still scored two goals away from home.

Pretty much sums up my feelings.
