Esse, George, Neil and Ferguson would be top quality business
I think people are sleeping on Simms to be honest. He’s got 8 goals since Nov which is a cracking return. He should start for the next few games at least.

With BTA to come back, I’m not sure we’ll sign a striker, at least not someone as good as Ferguson.

Less likely if we get Esse of course.
Why not both? They play on the opposite wings and ideal situation for us to be able to swap out both wingers.

Ipswich looked so sharp because players were able to rotated. A player like Jack Clarke was brought into their starting 11 from the bench on Boxing Day. EMC not starting against Charlton was telling imo - Lampard has mentioned a few times that we’ve had to limit minutes at times.

I thought they both played off the right predominantly

Would prefer better than Harrison

Johnson going to Palace early doors should see Esse confirmed quickly enough.
Has that been confirmed? Might even open up the possibility that we sign Esse on loan with an option/obligation to buy.

Esse could be one of those signings that might struggle in the Prem next season but will light up the Championship in 27/28 and have improved for a second run in Prem. Without trying to get too ahead of myself…

A thought just crossed my mind. Now Chelsea have no manager, has the Tyrique George possibility likely took a hit?

Esse would be a brilliant signing to start.

Wonder if this means Manneh is not signing though.

Ideally Esse, George, Ferguson, Neil is what I want.
I think its very apparent that when JDS isnt available the huge gap in quality is gaping. Id maybe like someone better than Brau/Bidwell to cover LB too. Is that being too greedy though?

Yeah for the first time in a long time the club needs to go short term focus rather than long. Don't care if we blow millions on expensive loans now.

I think Doug might be reluctant but hopefully he sees this as too big of an opportunity to pass up.
It'd be a waste paying millions on players that might not make the step up. Fill this window with loans, get over the line, then pump £100m in to the squad with PL quality. Starting with £10m for Rushworth.

there was talk it’s between us and Strasbourg (part of same group / ownership as Chelsea), but now their manager is favourite to take over at Chelsea, who knows….
I don’t believe he can go abroad on loan as Chelsea have already reached the maximum number of international loans.

That source does only say we’ve held talks so nothing concrete yet. Wonder if a Sheff Utd or a Southampton could pay more and offer more playing time.

We should be able to offer plenty of playing time really, at worst a new winger would be getting 20/30 mins off the bench every week. And as much as I rate Sakamoto, if Esse is as good as he and Palace probably think he is he should be able to claim the starting spot.

He’s barely played this year so I imagine wherever he goes his playing time will be initially limited. He’d get plenty of opportunities rotating at us. GET IT DONE FRANK!
