Has yesterday’s performance changed anyone’s view on what we need (in the literal sense of the word) in terms of signings next month?

I’m still on Team ‘Loan a right winger and let the current squad cook’ myself

I think 1 forward for now and 1 forward for the future.

And we are good for this season. Ideally you would want a back up to grimes but it's a tough gig as you are only getting game time if there is an injury

Right wing, centre mid, different kind of striker - id love a nippy matty godden type to offer something different to wright and simms.
Sign rushworth on a perm - just dreaming here i suspect

Bad news that Thomas, Kitching and Sakamoto are out for the season with flu imo
Out of curiosity, how many games this season have we had our full starting 11 (Excluding Dovin) and our strongest bench without filler on it.

We’ll see how Bidwell gets on for the next 3 games.

Two or three players of good quality is probably realistic.

There must be some decent ones struggling to break into PL teams that would potentially look at us and our position in the table, and see it as an opportunity to play there again next season.

I suspect Doug and the management will be taking it seriously, as I think the squad at the moment, whilst brilliant, is still a bit too thin to gamble with for the second half of the season as it is.

Not very many I’d guess. Our squad depth must be pretty good if we’re top of the league by miles regardless.
i can't believe you want us to run the risk of falling to squad depth when we could sign 2 or 3 this window and guarantee we wont

I can’t believe you don’t trust the squad that’s currently bossing the league even through major injury problems that are about to abate

There’s the Sheaf money just sitting there for exactly that purpose
Yeah I just really don't get the notion of not doing it. It's not going to upturn the apple cart, give players the rest they need and hopefully see us over the line.

The only person whos got incentive not to want to do it is Bling and anyone in his will.

I do trust them, but i dont get the idea that adding in 2 or 3 players to help us through difficult periods is a bad thing?

We wouldn't need to play Rudi out of position, we could give Grimes a break when games are won

I don’t think we should spend money on a player worse than Grimes just so we can give a break to a player who notoriously never needs a break

and if he gets injured?

Why are you pocket watching bling. You do know if we go up we get a ridiculous amount of cash?

If he gets injured we play one of our other CMs - they’re also good. He never gets injured btw

Let’s save the money and squad positions for players who can play in the Premier League, not for Championship backups

Just because a player has a great injury record doesn’t mean they can’t ever get one. Your obsession with not strengthening the squad is weird. We are in a great position to hammer home our dominance yet you’re happy to have a threadbare squad

I think he may be blings lover and concerned if he keeps spending he's not going to get as much cash in his will.

I do think there are one or two places where we could do with another option. I just think there has been a consistent underestimation all season of how capable some of our squad players are - yesterday included - that Is making people want to fritter away resources out of nerves on a squad that is already head and shoulders above the competition.

We have a much bigger squad building operation in six months time, we shouldn’t tinker around the edges now.

We need three signings, that’s obvious to anyone and I’m sure Frank would agree with me

What happens if we don’t sign three players? We just punt on the season and prepare for the playoffs? I think this squad is more than capable of going the distance.

Well clearly not, but we are feeling the effects of a small squad in the last few games. Why take the risk and not strengthen? We are in a great position to really seal promotion and three players is what we need to help us over the line

Nothing changes, yesterday only showed that we have capable players in depth on the defensive side of the squad. We still need 2 wide attacking players and another center mid.

Our position will definitely help in the recruiting side of things. So i expect 3 quality signings, perms, loans as well as extensions of current squad players to be announced.

IMO I think we need a winger (someone who cover both sides), a CM (can operate as a 6/8) and potentially a striker.

Those wanting Hamer to return have obviously not seen the Lampard interview on the importance of training ….

In short he says you have 3 types of players …

1) Those that train with intensity and set the standards

2) Those who can train with intensity if set the right example

3) Those that can’t sustain training with intensity

The key is to remove the last group from the club quickly as they tempt the middle group to lower their standards too.

Ultimately Lampard doesn’t agree with you and on this I’d go with him.

Need a right winger of EMC's calibre and if there's a a Torp kinda signing available (i.e. good, can improve), do it. Otherwise, think we're good.
