That’s still only three blocks. What’s our capacity at the moment? Must be well over 4k
You mean we give 4k away tickets or that's the amount of seats we give up with away tickets and covered up seats combined?

I mean how many tickets to we offer if people want them?

Sorry just to be clear and yes i am being thick, by people you mean away fans right? I was under the impression it was less than that. Charlton have sold out 2k and we've given them something like 200 more

Yeah sorry it’s probably me cos this is the second convo today I’ve had where I’m not making sense. Yeah how many tickets you we offer away clubs. Theground plan makes it look like there’s loads more there

Thats the problem, i think a lot is just netted off rather than sold. The ground should just have small strips, like dedicated standing areas for stewards/police either side of an away end of approx 3k, there are probably better examples than the below as there is still a small netted area here for some reason, but something like this, making full use of all seats...

It's not an easy puzzle to solve when it comes to the 10% or 3K away allocation for the PL.

Blocks 6,7,8 & 9 would give too many. 3700.

Blocks 6,7 & 8 alone, not enough.

So either the segregation remains the same as it it currently with maybe allowance to sell all tickets upto the barrier.

Or, something done allowing block 5 to be added to the away allocation along with 6, 7 & 8 (2893 tickets) and a dispensation from the rules to say that's the best we can offer. That solution would further squeeze away fans into the corner and give the full block 9 to home fans.

To be fair, Wembley have half a block of segregation netted off. Often they have a line of stewards too.

It didn’t feel like that when I was there for the POs I think it was. I’m sure it’s was only a few seats.

I think lower tier the segregation is quite small but upper tier is like a whole block on both sides of the stadium. Game was a sellout but attendance was 85,711 out of 90K.

We offer just over 3k, but with segregation the seats used is about 4k

When they calaculate the 10% what is actually taken into consideration.

Do the seats on the balcony that can't be used get counted, does the number of people who can get into hospitality add to your total? Could we drop it to just below 3K for away fans if we stopped counting tickets that are never on sale?

Brum were given 2,744. West Brom 2,815.

I've no idea how many the others were given, but so far only Brum have sold their allocation.

Isn't the rule that the away club have to pay for the tickets not sold if they take the full allocation? Or have I made that up? It would be funny if the West Brom 'boycott' ended up costing their own club.

And if not, why do some clubs (eg Charlton) get a lower allocation? Why not just give everyone 2.8K?

Confused from Weymouth...

I saw on twitter the other day that Boro have only been allocated 2.5k at Charlton and it's caused some uproar as their away can hold well over 3. I wonder if the club have got wind we may get the same for NYD so are limiting their allocation ?

We've given them just 2150 because we want more home fans in the South Stand.

I cannot see us giving more than 2150 to any club for the rest of the season.

In the Prem you have to give away fans 10% of stadium capacity, up to a maximum of 3000 seats.

Sort of, you have to give a minimum of 3000 if your capacity is 30K or over. Below that you must give 10%. Same rules apply in championship, but difference is it's 2000 and 20K.

I don't know about that rule. I'd imagine that you could charge them for the expense of the tickets, but no more than that.

They are more vocal, but if they were doing better they would sell out. Its easy to be principled about not attending when your shit!

Maybe, maybe not. It's still likely to see 1200 empty seats in an away end on Saturday. They'd have sold out in a day or two at £37. As they will do for QPR.

If it was £32 you could begin talking about building another 10,000 seater second tier.

But prices aren't going to drop.
I think, barring promotion, our attendances have pretty much peaked.
An end to the cost of living crisis which seems to be going on forever might help.
