Just to be clear is the plan:

7:40-7:43 - the Enemy play WLADITT
7:43-7:44 - Last post/minutes silencr
7:44-7:45 - PA plays WLADITT before kickoff?

Its says the enemy at 7:50 so I was assuming the new single, then WLADITT, minutes silence, kick off

not great planning to have it the same game as the minutes silence as any atmosphere it generates will be lost but I guess this is when they have a new single to promote, is on tv and doesn't clash with their tour dates

They'll do one song surely?

I love The Enemy, the most underrated band of that era by a mile for me

However I think this is a load of shit and should have been left for when we actually win something

Going to look like wankers after all that pomp if we lose
Leave it with you Saddles, give them a call this evening and tell them the gig is cancelled because you think it's a load of shit because we could lose and then we'll look like wankers. 🤣

I'm in my Office in Brum tomorrow fighting off students with a shitty stick. then I need to get to spend some time with my Dad who is reaching the end of his time, then I need to drop off a ticket and then..if they are lucky...I'll catch The Enemy. Then its a case of relaxing and watch us deliver 3 points.

Going to assume there’s no wiggle room to move the minutes silence before they play WLADITT live, so it’s definitely going to be in the wrong order and seem pretty disjointed.

Shame it has fallen on the same day.

Even the PA rendition isn’t going to get much time between silence and KO - however last time that happened and it was carried on by the crowd without the backing track, it was actually pretty special.

If Dougs plan is to try and pump up the atmosphere, is the Enemy playing their new single that virtually nobody will know, not go completely against that? If theyre gonna do a song or 2 before WLADITT, surely it/they will have to be off of the first album so more people are more likely to know at least the choruses to join in?

Is this Doug's plan? More likely a band promoting their new single / album / tour.

So they will blast it out to get the fans going to then silence them for a minutes silence?

Just don't see the point

I keep reading this but there's always a build up before minute silences. Even a few years ago where it was bouncing, the pause made no difference.

It’s an overused word but it all sounds a bit , well Tinpot frankly.
Fair play to the enemy, we have absolutely resurrected their career. Can you make a successful album these days if it’s only bought and streamed in a CV postcode?

Only other time I’ve seen a live band at a football match was Sunderland away in the prem years. I think it was Precious performed at half time. Was a bit random.

Although it wasn’t to help capitalise on a trend and sell a load of merchandise.
