Trouble is he is all mouth and no trousers.

Bassette reacts to his goal against Pompey from all of 2 yards as though he has struck a worldie.

I see nothing wrong with a player - particularly a young one - getting excited when he scores a goal, however easy it was. A lot of us get excited and we’re not even on the pitch.

I’d quite like it if Simms would display even a brief flicker of delight when he scores.

bit of a difference between going 1-0 up and an equaliser...

I don't see anything wrong with Bassette's enthusiasm on the pitch, it's clearly his work behind the scenes that is the problem.

And he should've buried a 1 on 1 about 10 mins later and if he did, the match might have had a different outcome.

Yes, we’d have lost 4-2 instead. Bloody Collins

What a shameful day that was. Really felt for Collins. Whether he fucked up or not he didn't deserve the abuse he got from some of the morons in our fan base.

Be interesting to see how many actually turn up tonight. I know loads of people that bought tickets and aren’t going because they rightly think £12 for 30 points is a bargain

I agree, there is no excusing foul abuse of your own players at the game. It was an atrocious performance though.
it’s not right but I’m sure it used to happen a lot more than it does now.

Having said that, There was a home game last year - Norwich? Sheffield Wednesday? - where we’d lost and were shite. The vast majority near me were clapping the players off the pitch.
I mean I ain’t gonna hurl abuse at them but fuck that too!

If I’m pissed off at a performance I just stay neutral. That away day at Portsmouth though, people will have travelled early and gotten either coked or pissed up or both. That explains most of the cunty behaviour in any fan base.

Except for Birmingham

Until it went 1-1 in that Portsmouth game we were completely dominant, should have been 2-0 up and looked like we'd win at a canter. I think that's why the reaction was harsh.

Yeah, neutrality is best I’d say.

I’ve read that the Players hear a lot of what is being said in the crowd, especially goalkeepers I’d guess. I wasn’t at that game but must’ve been awful for him.
His confidence was clearly shot as the season progressed. I can’t see anyway back for him with us. Seems to be a very different character to Wilson.

Cba to read the whole thread, so I'll just ask quickly.... if it's still a draw after 90 mins, will there be extra time or straight to penalties?

Yep. Bizarre game. Portsmouth looked nervy and completely devoid of confidence until they equalised. If Bassette scores that 1 on 1 we win the game without getting out of second gear.

Who would you have on the pitch if we’re drawing at 80 mins?

Wright and Torp obviously, Grimes probably. Not sure after that.
