It’s only a serious gain if we get the right players in, if we sell Bobby clubs will 100% be putting the price tags of players up as they know we’ll have the cash
Yeah, agreed which is why I said timing wasn’t ideal. He’s also great from corners, but I would find it a hard deal to turn down if I was chairman. V 50/50 decisions.

Interesting - I mean IF we got offered that sort of money for BT (sounds like you squeeze more) then I think you're taking it. ONLY if we have x2 CBs singed or literally ready to drop. Doyle and Hughes would be outrageous.

As per Jimmy87 post, clearly there is so much going on behind scenes. Its going to be an interesting last couple of weeks I think.

Lampard has kind of hinted today that we have good players but to move forward you need even better.. Bobby Thomas is exactly that category.. he’s good but you need better in this league

£8m is excellent business for a player people are moaning about most weeks.

He can’t go until we sign at least one CB, but £8m is a decent return.
You can’t keep saying this when there is absolutely no incomings recently what so ever

all good making profit on players with Jake Bidwell at Centre back and no recognized replacement 10 in the squad re Rudi

whole thing is becoming a bit of a joke

I do like Thomas. He’s a bit of a warrior for us defensively, pops up with a fair few goals for a centre half, and is rarely injured. Still relatively young with time to develop further, but that being said, I’d take £8m for him all day long. Timing is horrendous though in preparation for tomorrow.

Timing is horrendous in terms of preparation for tomorrow.

Spot on, we are talking upgrading good players, this why it takes longer, more protracted negotiations etc. Have to keep evolving.

Timing is starting to be challenging as will be tricky to have multiple players lined up this late.

Knowing Doug we can push that closer to 10 million

And youd snap their fucking hands off for that

We clearly had the money for Charlie Hughes anyway, get him and Callum Doyle in, few million left for a striker, great business
And their defensively in the shit so they will pay more if Doug wants extra, I like Bobby but if we can get Hughes and Doyle in then cracking buisness and so left over for the striker and the window would be a good one

Matt.. trust me mate.. this is all under control.. things aren’t being leaked from our end but they will from other clubs.. things are happening behind the scene for us too

If by September 1st we have lost 4 and not replaced them, I will happily change your bed sheets for you

We're clearly after a CB with our bid for Hughes, calm down I'm sure DK has it sorted.

No, because as of yet he's not an improvement on Dovin. He could yet be a great keeper, but as it stands, were no better/worse off than having Dovin fit and Wilson on the bench. Tomato - Potato.
I dont think we're weaker in that position, but i certainly wouldn't say we've "strengthened". Especially as the plaster we've used to cover it up with has a January recall. Then we're back to Dovin/Wilson. Thats not an improvement, that's the same!

With Dovin injured the choice was Wilson or Collins.
We've definitely improved the goal keeping situation by brining g in a loan.
Half a season with Wilson or Collins in goal doesn't bare thinking about.
