Even if he isnt BS'ing, theres not many players I look at in West Broms squad with a real desire to sign
Yeh agreed, there's only a couple and they are the ones who when they move will almost certainly go higher up the food chain than us.

Just to point out to those who say we haven’t strengthened. As things stand we’ve signed Rushworth, Brau and KKH. We’ve lost Binks. No need to panic.

And, despite the mistakes on Saturday, replacing Collins/Wilson is the biggest improvement we could have made.

Cannot believe the meltdown on here. People are craving a dopamine hit from a signing.

Johnston, Fellows, Heggem.

Outside of that im hard pressed.
Thats pretty much it mate, not even overly fussed about Johnston tbh. The other 2 are class and will move to top division clubs in one country or another i'm sure.

People will say it’s “bedwetting” but it’s clear we’ve not improved the team since last season and there’s only a few weeks left of the window. You can assume KKH is a replacement for Van Ewijk, Brau is yet to prove he’s an upgrade on Dasilva and Rushworth is a temporary fix for the loss of Dovin.

We’re not in an awful position as a functioning squad but nothing about our recruitment this window has so far screamed “promotion”.
Would you rather start the season with last year’s opening day squad? Or even the squad that finished the season?

We’ve clearly strengthened in a couple of problem positions and while we still have a couple of areas to address, we have the time and the funds to do so.

A CB at least looks definitely needed.

As for saying we haven't improved, let's not forget the potential if our own players to be improved by the coaching staff. Rudoni is 24, EMC 25 and torp 26 I think. No reason to not think they can still improve

Yes and yet when it mattered in the playoffs we just spammed crosses in without any idea on how to break sunderland down.

We have no plan B.
Torp was a massive loss in that Sunderland game, they nullified Rudoni and they were so compact that the only space was out wide. He'd be our plan B in similar games this season, can't rely on Sheaf to pick a killer pass and shoot from range

Its not midfielders we need, its different kinds of forwards.

I disagree. I think we need a Central Midfielder.

The balance between Sheaf and Grimes isn't right. Torp improves things in there, but we still end up with big gaps in the middle. Would love us to get a proper box to box midfielder to help close that down.... That's why i was so excited by the Pereira links (albeit having only seen highlight reels of him)

Yeah Im mean I get that (just looking at my posting history 🤣).

But my point is Haji Wright was at his best with Torp behind him under Lampard. Would want to try that out more. Would like to sign a Striker but think that depends on trying to get one of three gone which looks difficult atm
